7 Things That Have Really Helped My Mental Health Recently

After listening to about 5 episodes of  Mad World by Bryony Gordon back to back, which is a podcast all about the truths of mental health it gave me the idea for this post. In the podcast, they discuss everything from their mental health struggles and what has helped them recover and it made me really think about the past few months. To be completely honest ever since May the state of my MH has been really poor, infact I don't think it's been such a mess since I had a complete breakdown around 4 years ago with a rough patch in November of last year. And I couldn't work out why...I was meant to be super happy there were a lot of good things happening for me I had moved out, my boyfriend was going to be home for longer than two weeks, work was good and I'd passed my driving test etc. But I didn't feel good at all, I felt horrendous every day was riddled with anxious energy [as well as other things] and not the type of energy that gives the urge to do something it was the type of energy that is absolutely exhausting and all I wanted to do was go to sleep.

6 Things That I Learnt From Doing Something That Scared Me

A couple of weekends a go I completed Race For Life with my best friend and it was such an incredibly heart warming experience. It's something that I've always feared doing because it’s so far out of my comfort zone. But as one of my biggest goals this was year was to do things that scared me and get out of my comfortable bubble I did it and I'm so glad I did. Here are a few things that I learnt along the way.

The Skincare That Can Help You Fake A Good Routine When You Can't Be Bothered

Skincare is something I obviously care quite a lot about as it's something I wrote about on a regular basis but I have to be honest sometimes I really can't be bothered with the whole rigorous routine. Sometimes I really do just want to fall into bed and go to sleep within 30 seconds and not have to stand around in the bathroom doing a double cleanse. But my urge not to get a face full of breakouts because I've been slack with my skincare routine is a little stronger so it's an ongoing battle. However, I've found a few products that allow you to be a little carefree with your routine once in a while or are just great if you can't be bothered with a laborious routine and here are the details on them.

Why No One Is That Great At Adulting

When I was a teenager and thought about growing up and becoming a fully fledged adult I always imagined that I would have my life really together. I had my 5-year life plan and as a very naive 19-year old I truly believed I would have my life completely sorted out at 27, be married and possibly on the way to having children. I can't help but look back and laugh at myself for how easy I thought being an adult was going to be. And really I'm not surprised I did think this way because no adult really tells you how it actually is. Mostly because they're all making it up as they go along and lately I've realised there isn't anybody I know who is all that great at being an adult and it's so normal to struggle.

9 Things For A Mid-Week Refresh & Restart

Although I don't have a typical working week as I always tend to take a few hours off mid week than having a proper weekend something I do absolutely love is having a midweek/hump day pamper. Typically this a routine that I always do on a Sunday but time might not always allow for that and by the time Wednesday rolls around I'm more than likely not feeling all that fresh. And here is the beauty routine I like to follow to refresh and restart;

What 6 Years Of Blogging Has Honestly Taught Me

So here is it...my sixth year in the blogging world and there are so many things that I've learnt along the way. I can't help myself when we roll around to July but to look back on everything that has happened in the last few years and reminisce. Over the years I've very much felt a shift in the blogging world and this year I've found my feet more than ever but there have also been a few drawbacks too. So here are some honest thoughts on blogging that the last six years has taught me.

The Creme De La Creme Of The Concealer World

Concealer is just one of those beauty products that I never got excited about in the past. And when you think about it why would we get excited about a product that's number one aim is to conceal something that we don't want on our face, to begin with? But after so many failed attempts to find something that worked rather than making the general area look worse. I've found a few from both ends of the price spectrum that really do work and cover up anything imaginable.

Learning To Love Yourself When You're Unhappy With Your Body

Although it saddens me to say this there isn't a single female I know in my life who hasn't suffered from a lack of body confidence at some point. And it's a complex journey there is no doubt about it because we have our own expectations plaguing our thoughts and then what other people expect from us too. Learning to love your body no matter what is something that has been a long complex journey for me over the years especially when dealing with body dysmorphia but here are a few things that I've learnt along the way.

Pampering Your Peepers

The older I get the more I think about how I'm looking after my eyes and over the years I've not always been that precious about my peepers. Which considering I rely on them for my job you would think that they would be a priority for me but I've been far too careless. But now I'm in the middle of my late twenties they've  become a huge priority for me with how I'm taking care of them in terms of what skincare I'm using. But also some other general things that I'm doing to make sure my eyes could be as good as they possibly could be and here they are;
