As my gym membership includes the use of local swimming pools I've been making a real effort to go for a swim a couple of times a week. I love swimming, as a child it was my absolute favourite activity but I've not been properly in years. I find it really relaxing just going at my own pace for an hour or so however I don't find feeling like a dried up prune afterwards quite so pleasant so this is how I've been helping my skin recover from that nasty chlorine.
After I've had my swim I quickly have a shower there at the pool just to get the chlorine of my skin and I've been using the L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Bath & Shower Gel. I need to purchase the full size of this because it is one of the most beautiful scents around but the formulation is lovely too as it cleanses the skin so well without drying it out. Once I'm home I will then wash my hair properly, I try and keep my hair out of the water as much as I can as it is coloured and chlorine and colour don't mix.
Whenever my hair is in need of a real thorough clean I always reach for the Bumble & Bumble Seaweed Shampoo*, it leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean, light and unbelievably shiny. Followed up the Bumble & Bumble Deeep Mask* this really helps to replenish the hair, I don't like to use this too much as it contains protein which used too much can be quite damaging. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the banana scent it reminds me of the sweets that I never used to get when getting a pick n mix.
To add moisture back into my skin I've been using the E45 Intense Recovery Lotion*, a moisturiser that does exactly what it says on the tin. My legs get particularly dry when I've been on the pool so an ample amount of this all over helps diminish any dryness I might have in not time and leaves me with silky smooth pins once more. Although I try not to dunk my face in the water obviously you can't expect to go swimming and come out with an untouched complexion. The Helenere Hedelweiss Cream Mask* is my go to if my skin is feeling a little parched, it works so quickly at restoring any moisture that I've lost without clogging up my pores.
