The Best for Brightening

During the colder months I really struggle to keep my skin bright, no matter how much h20 I consume I'm still left with a dull complexion. Whilst I can fake a healthy glow with make up I really want to be glowing underneath it all so that is when I turn to a few fail safe items in my skincare stash. I pull these items out all year round but particularly in winter they become absolute staples for me and are my best friends in helping me achieve that glow that we all covet.

I prefer a chemical exfoliant over a manual scrub but I still know the importance of giving my skin a weekly buff. The best I've ever found is the Una Brennan Vitamin C Micro Polish Wash, the beads are smooth so it doesn't scratch away at my skin instead it just light buffs away at any pesky dry patches. I have three brightening masks on rotation at the moment, the newest into my ranks is the Origins GinZing Refreshing Face Mask. The gel consistency is refreshing in itself, using this a couple of times a week is really helping my skin look brighter and just overall a lot healthier.

When I want something more intense than I reach for the Jurlique Fruit Enzyme Exfoliator*, this is my favourite exfoliating mask. You only need to leave this on for a few minutes to feel and see the benefit and if used in conjunction something deep cleansing you're left with some seriously dreamy skin afterwards. When I want something that combines both steps of deep cleansing and brightening I reach for the Elemis Fruit Active Rejuvenating Mask*, a creamy mask that still nourishes the skin.

After my years with cystic acne a brightening serum is a big part of my routine. The Perricone MD Vitamin C Ester* is a wonderful product but it comes with a hefty price tag. So when The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Reviver* arrived through my letter box and I started testing it out I was happy to discover it a compete dupe for the latter. I only use this is in dedicated areas that really need the help like my chin and nose, I love the silky smooth consistency of it and it makes make up application a complete dream afterward. Since using these products I've noticed such a big difference in my skin, it just looks a lot healthier and happier and the scarring is reduced.
