The Best Beauty Products Of 2014

We've come to that time of year again when we all start sharing our favourite beauty products of the year and I highly doubt mine will be a surprise to regular readers. The more I blog the more I become stuck in my ways with the make up that I use, you would think it would be the complete opposite right? I've lost the urge to go and spend all my money on the latest beauty releases and concentrate more on finding products that I know really work for me. I've tried to narrow it down to only a few that I've not spoken too much about in the last 12 months as you guys already know how much I love them. I've already shared my best beauty discoveries here and my best purchases here, so here are some of my best beauty products from the last 12 months.

YSL Youth Liberator Foundation: I've discovered so many awesome bases this year that this was a really tough call to make. YSL bases are something that I absolutely adore as I think they are everything a high end base should be. They are pricy yes but they last incredibly well on the skin and give the most beautiful finish that it's hard not to wear this everyday. Honourable mentions go to the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation and the L'Oreal True Match Foundation but I've probably worn the YSL the most.

Chloé Roses de Chloé*: Ah Chloé, such a beautiful classic fragrance that I will always love. The rose edition is something I've been sparingly using all year as I have so much perfume to work through that I simply just cannot justify buying the full size of it. It has such great lasting power on the skin that I can still smell it hours later. If you're a rose lover like me then I highly suggest getting your hands on this as it's absolutely beautiful.

Revlon Matte Balms: Any surprises that these were going to make their way into this? Probably my best lip discovery of the year. Don't be fooled by the matte name as they leave more of a satin finish to the lips which makes them comfortable to wear all day without them starting to crack or feel uncomfortable. The shades sultry and standout are my favourites by far, a classic vintage pink and red that are perfect for any occasion.

Nuxe Reve De Miel*: After being heartbroken over the apparent discontinuation of my beloved Dior Creme de Rose I was happy to welcome this into my life. It's a very thick almost waxy balm that goes onto the lips matte so it's great for those who don't like a glossy sheen during the day. You only need a tiny amount and you will still be able to feel it hours later, I like to use this overnight and I can always feel it in the morning. It makes light work of any dry or cracked areas you might have and for the price I think it's a complete bargain.

Tarte Exposed Blush: It had to be this or NARS Douceur but as that has been discontinued I didn't think it was fair to include it. I've spoken about this so much recently that I will spare you my usual spiel about it, but to sum up my feelings: it's seriously amazing

Lancome Colour Design Luminous Eyeshadow: My boyfriend picked this up on a complete whim for me in Sephora when he was working in the states. I've never used anything from Lancome before so I was looking forward to giving something from the brand a go. This is by far the longest lasting eyeshadow I've ever used, I had a medical procedure and I had applied this and 7 hours later it was still perfectly intact. It survived an hours worth of tears once and then a rather sweaty workout and if I'm completely honest I couldn't quite believe it. I would have totally dismissed it before but I'm so glad I got the chance to try it as it's become an absolute staple to me.

Collection Ridge Filler Base Coat: It's not been until the last couple of months when I've been making a real effort to get my nails back to a healthy state that I've realised how awesome this product actually is. It's so good under nail polish as it doesn't let any colour seep into the nail so you aren't ever left with horribly stained nail beds either. It leaves a really smooth surface for applying any sort of polish on top and is worth so much more than the price that you pay for it.
