The Not Too Pink Pinks

Some people look fantastic in bright pink shades, I'm not one of those people. Give me a bold red or plum any day but fuschia pinks just aren't for me. Pinks still one of my favourite shades to wear though, just of a more muted variety and here are some of my most loved not too pink pinks.

Fresh Sugar Lip Balm in Petal: This was love at first sight when my boyfriend arrived home from the USA with this in tow. I've declared my love for the Fresh Lip Balms on many occasions now but I truly think they are some of the best-tinted balms around. They are so comfortable to wear as they're super moisturising and don't scrimp on colour pay off. The shade Petal is so close to my own lip colour so it fills my lips out without the need for a liner. Not only is the product itself great but the packaging has a screw on lid which makes them perfect for on the go.

Nars Blush in Douceur: I just had to talk about this, even though it's discontinued there are dupes available. This is pink in the most subtle way, it's got a taupe undertone that means it's perfect for adding definition to the face too. The Nars blushes are second to none in formula, pigmented, buttery soft and long lasting. What more could a girl want? As you can no longer get your hands on it the next best thing is the Tarte Blush in Exposed, it's a touch pinker that Douceur but it's pretty much identical. These are the blushes that I reach for on a nearly daily basis as they look beautiful and can accompany any make-up look.

Clinique Pop Lip & Primer in Bare Pop*: Possibly my favourite shade in the Pop Lip line. It's a nude pink that isn't too pale which can be tricky to track down. Ideal for everyday wear as the formulation is so creamy and easy to apply that you can throw it in your handbag and not have to worry about a fussy touch-up. As these lipsticks have built in priming properties they leave a smooth opaque finish of colour that doesn't drag the skin around.

Revlon Matte Balm in Sultry: My boldest pick out of the bunch but one of my all time favourite shades. This is a bolder lip choice without being too out there. What I love about Sultry is that it looks different on everyone, on me it's a deep rose shade but on others it can lean more towards the red side. One of my favourite lipstick lines around, the crayon packaging makes it super easy to slick on with precision. Although they're marketed as a matte they're more of a satin finish but are still long lasting.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in Rosewood: Possibly my favourite lipstick of 2014. If I had to choose what my favourite pink lipstick is it would probably be this one. I think this entire line from Bourjois is completely underrated, super creamy without being too slippy. Even though they are so creamy they still last a good 4 hours on the lips. They wear away evenly which is a big plus as there is nothing worse than being left of patches of lipstick.

Lanolips Lip Ointment in Rose*: If I want to go for something more glossy than I will go for this or the Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine . Both of them deposit the prettiest milky pink shade on the lips without being too white making you look ever so corpse-like. The only issue I have with both of these is that they aren't in stick form which doesn't make them travel-friendly as I don't want to run the risk of spreading bacteria.
