Styling Ladder Shelves

Ever since I started to slowly move in with my boyfriend I've wanted some tall ladder shelves. I think they look absolutely beautiful and are such a lovely way to store things but they're quite pricey so I've had to wait a while before picking some up. As we have a funny little alcove in our bedroom as it's an old terrace with fireplaces in every room [sadly boxed up] it can make the space a little odd to work with. So ladder shelves seemed to be the perfect solution for this little nook and here is how I've styled them.

The Best Shadows For Oily Lids & Making Them Stay All Day

Before I really understood my skin and what my skin type was I could never understand why my eyeshadow would never stay around. And even when I got into beauty and started to understand the whole skin thing a little bit more I never ever thought that your eyelids could be oily, but weirdly my lids are probably one of the oiliest parts of my face. And as a serious lover of the champagne glittery eye, it goes without saying that I like my eyeshadow to stick around and not become a creased mess. It's been one of my biggest beauty missions to figure out how to work around oily lids and still get my shadow to stay put and look perfected all day long.

Waves 101

If you don't follow me on Twitter or Instagram you might have seen me talking about having my hair cut. After having relatively long hair [nearly to my belly button at one point] for 18 months or so I decided to get it chopped back to just past my shoulders and it feels SO much better. I no longer have to battle with my hairbrush every evening because I've got a dreadlock from wearing a coat. And the best thing is that I can finally style it the way I've wanted to for months but was always too scared to get it chopped so I could. So here is a little 101 guide to my favourite effortless [but a lot of effort] waves and some of my favourite hair products at the moment.

A Few Ways To Get A Really, Really Good Nights Sleep

Sleep, is without a doubt one of my all time favourite things to talk about. When you get to a certain point in life one of the best topics of conversation is either how much or how little you're sleeping. And when you get a really good nights sleep it's something to brag about, whether it's in real life or online. After going through a really rough patch at the later end of 2016 and not feeling that great for it I made a conscious effort to try and get as much sleep as I possibly could. Because we all know that sleep is something we need to have to function but who really has enough of it? So here are some of the ways that I've found that can really help you to get a really, really good nights sleep.

The Non Lipstick Lovers Guide To Lipstick

Lipstick is an odd beauty product for me. I absolutely adore looking at them, finding a new shade to wear and trying out different formulations but I find them gathering dust in my beauty stash way too much. I'm such a big lover and advocate of minimal makeup which is probably why they laid neglected so much. However, there are a few specific formulations that are so comfortable to wear, easy to use and bypass all the problems that most lipsticks have. Worrying about whether I've got it on my face, teeth or it's worn away and looks ridiculous isn't something I can ever be bothered with. So if you have the same love-hate relationship with lipstick here are some of my favourite formulations and a few ways to achieve the perfect application whatever type of lip look you love.

11 Beauty Products I Finished This Year & The Repurchase Run Down

The thought of doing an 'empties' post is something I find a little gross as the idea of keeping my rubbish hanging around is not one that I like to entertain. But out of all the ways that people review and talk about beauty products I find that empties can often be the most beneficial because sometimes it's hard to know how we truly feel about an item until we've got to the end of it. As I've been on a real decluttering kick I've made my way through a fair amount of products and here are my thoughts on them as well as a run down on if I would repurchase them again.

The Best Things That Happened To Me This Year

There is a large part of me that doesn't want to write this post. Probably because I'm British and we find it pretty much impossible to share anything that's going well without a huge sense of guilt or fear that if we talk about it then something bad will happen just so we know not to get too cocky. But sometimes, it's really nice to share the good things that have happened and whenever someone else does it I always feel so happy for them whether I know them personally or not. So here are some of the best things that happened to me in 2016.
