The Lazy Girl Skincare Essentials

Let's be honest. There are some days when you really just can't be bothered for the whole skincare routine thing and you're so exhausted you just want to get your makeup off and fall into bed. Over the years, I've strived to find products that have maximum effect with minimum effort. So today I present you my lazy girl skincare essentials.

THE MAKE-UP REMOVER

NIVEA SENSITIVE CARING MICELLAR WATER: I highly doubt that I will ever remove my makeup with anything but a micellar water. It's the easiest way to remove the main bulk of your base and they even work well at removing stubborn eye makeup. We all know wipes are not the best option to use on your skin and personally I think these magical waters are a much easier and skin-friendly way to go. I've always remained loyal to the Garnier Micellar Water, but I think this new-ish release from Nivea may have knocked it off the top spot. It's incredibly hydrating on the skin so leaves your complexion silky smooth but still free from of makeup remnants. In a pinch, it can be ok to use this as a cleanser but not something to get into the habit of.

THE GOOD NIGHT SLEEP MASK

DR JART WATER MAX SLEEPING MASK*: I don't know a soul out there who gets the amount of sleep that they should. Not getting those precious hours in your duvet kingdom can play havoc with your skin and leave you with a very sad looking complexion. Although an overnight mask won't completely fix the issue it definitely helps the skin to look a lot healthier and improve plumpness and elasticity. This is a great addition to your A/W skincare routine too as when you've been out all day in the ice cold winds your skin is always in need of a hydration boost like this.

THE BRIGHTENING CLEANSER

OSKIA RENAISSANCE CLEANSING GEL*: Dull skin is a real issue for me so I try and make sure I have something in my routine that can help brighten up with my complexion without being too aggressive. This cult cleanser from Oskia contains the wonderful addition of pumpkin enzymes that help to brighten up the complexion without scrimping on the cleansing. It's the perfect cleanser for those of us who don't want multiple steps in our routine but don't want to miss out on the benefits of them.

THE HYDRATING DEEP CLEANSING MASK

ANTIPODES AURA MANUKA HONEY MASK: It's rare that a mask can give your skin a deep thorough cleanse without leaving it stripped, tight and looking a little worse for wear after you've removed it. Enter this beautiful mask from the natural skincare brand Antipodes. What sets this apart from your typical clay cleansing mask is that it uses manuka honey to hydrate the skin as well as being a natural antibacterial. It's great for those days when your skin needs a thorough cleanse but is also in need of the extra moisture.
