8 Cult Beauty Products: The Verdict

Whether it be a cult beauty product from the industry or from the blogging world I'm always cautious when trying it. When something has so much praise you can never be sure whether it's just marketing hype or if it's actually well deserved. So today I'm sharing a bunch of cult beauty products and whether I think they are worth it or not.

LIZ EARLE CLEANSE & POLISH: If I had to pinpoint one skincare item that the majority of the blogging world has tried then it would have to be this. I absolutely adore this cleanser, it's fantastic and no matter what the condition of my skin it just works. It's a beautiful creamy consistency that not only gives the skin a thorough cleanse and removes any makeup remnants. But it's super nourishing too so you're not left a with stripped and sore complexion afterwards.

VERDICT: YES

NARS BLUSHER: Nars is to blusher what YSL is to handbags, just wonderful. They have a huge colour range so you're bound to find something that works for you and they offer different formulations too. My favourite shade has to be Douceur which has sadly been discontinued. It's one of the most beautiful dusky rose shades ever made but there are dupes out there. Beautiful shade aside it's the formula that is where it's at, they are super long lasting, highly pigmented and just overall dreamy.

VERDICT: YES

SHU UEMURA EYELASH CURLERS: Even when I don't wear makeup I will still give my lashes a quick curl to open up my eyes and help detract from the bags. As I'm not blessed with naturally fluttery lashes a good lash curler has become an integral part of my routine. Although they are an expensive purchase I would definitely recommend the Shu Uemura curlers. They don't pinch the eye but they still grab all the small little lashes and keep them lifted all day.

VERDICT: YES

NUXE REVE DE MIEL: I'm a self-confessed lip balm snob, I've spent far too many years using products that promised me things that they could never deliver. The Nuxe Reve de Miel to me is the perfect in between for those of us who don't have a huge budget but still want a balm that will actually work. It repairs chapped, sore lips and relieves the pain within seconds. It's on par with the likes of the Dior Creme de Rose which is double the price and not widely available anymore.

VERDICT: YES

JO MALONE COLOGNES: Perfume, in general, is a pricey product so you can't really escape from the expense of it.  Jo Malone fragrances are incredibly popular not only in the blogging world but in the real one too. It's no secret that I absolutely love the brand, but I think they are totally worth it. They offer such a unique selection of scents and the whole JM shopping experience is absolutely amazing.

VERDICT: YES

ELIZABETH ARDEN 8 HOUR CREAM: This is such a cult item. It's the secret weapon of so many makeup artists and is a firm part of any fashion show. 8-hour cream has so many uses, from creating dewy skin to helping with dry patches or even burns. No matter what I'm dealing with I can always count on this product to help me out. Even though it's pricey it's a worthwhile investment as it will last you years.

VERDICT: YES

YSL TOUCHE ECLAT: I feel sorry for the YSL Touche Eclat as it's a very confused product. So many people think that this is a concealer, but it's not. It's a highlighting pen that helps to add life to the skin without the need for a powder highlight. Even though I love what this can do for your complexion there are so many cheaper alternatives out there especially amongst the shelves of L'Oreal. Which is the brand that own YSL so it's no coincidence.

VERDICT: NO

REAL TECHNIQUES BUFFING BRUSH: This brush reigned supreme in the blogging world for a good couple of years. I've moved on since to the likes of Zoeva, but I still adore this brush. You can use it for so many things so it's a real multitasker which makes it a great tool to have around. The only downside to this is that you cannot buy it on its own as it comes in a set with other brushes which are also great but the buffing brush is the star of the show.

VERDICT: YES
