My favourite things in June

I'm happy to see the back of June, it was an emotional month for me there is no denying it. At the beginning of the month the time had finally come to say goodbye to my boyfriend as he is now currently working on Warped Tour having the time of his life.  I would like to say oh yeah I've been totally fine and for 90% of the time I have been but I've found myself getting teary at the most ridiculous things like donuts, The Simpsons and just the sight of Wagamamas. Long distance relationships are hard but now I feel a lot more back on track with my life and getting on with my own career etc. Enough of my little sob story, lets get on with the beauty items I've been loving this month.

My hay fever has been absolutely horrendous this month and along with a nasal spray the Liz Earle Eye Bright Soothing Eye Lotion* has been my best friend. It arrived on the day I said goodbye to my boyfriend so it was great timing for that too and it completely soothed my puffy weeping eyes. Something else from Liz Earle is the Botanical Essences No15 Perfume which was a birthday present from my sister last year.  I forgot just how much I loved the scent of this, I'm dire at describing perfumes so I won't attempt but it is a musky yet fresh fragrance. This is my most long lasting perfume in my collection so if I know I have a busy day I usually reach for this.

I've found my skin has been a little stressed this month, I blame the crying & hay fever so I've been reaching for the Origins Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Mask. After leaving this on for 20 minutes or so my skin just looks so much calmer and it also helps to knock out any redness of blemishes I might have. Last year I was all about the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation and I re-discovered it at the beginning of this month and I forgot just how dreamy it is to apply. Even though it so light weight it offers the most beautiful coverage and finish to the skin, I'm nearing the end of this bottle so I will repurchase without hesitation. A new release from Clarins are the Lip Balm Crayons* and the shade Sweet Cherry is the perfect in between of pink and red. The formulation of these are absolutely lovely and even though they have that balmy consistency they last well on the lips too.

Cream shadows are something that I've been meaning to try out for a long time and a product that has been filling that void has been the MeMeMe Dew Pot* in Coral Blossom. Such a pretty champagne shade that is akin to MAC Naked Lunch but in cream form, I've been using this as a base to any powder eyeshadow I might be using or alone. Two old favourites of mine are the Rimmel Salon Pro nail polish in Hip Hop and this Benefit Blush Trio. Hip Hop is the perfect summer red for me, I actually need to pick up a new bottle as I'm getting to the end of this and not only is the shade perfect the formula is spot on too. The shade Bella Bamba from this Benefit trio has barely left my cheeks lately, it a really pretty pink with shimmer shot through so I never need to use a highlight whenever I use this.
