Our Small & Simple Wedding
Our Small & Simple Wedding

Just over four months ago, we finally got married after two cancelled dates and a whole host of worry and uncertainty. I would have loved to write this post and say that all those worries and uncertainties for people trying to get married at the moment have faded away but unfortunately, things seem more uncertain than ever with the new covid variant. I truly feel for people trying to plan their special day right now and have been for the past two years…

Why I Stopped Being A Full Time Blogger
Why I Stopped Being A Full Time Blogger

Part of me thought mentioning that I’d stopped blogging as my full-time job on Instagram and briefly in a few blog posts was enough but then the question kept on coming up and I realised maybe the subject did deserve a post explaining why. Last year, things changed a lot for me as I imagine they did for everyone when the pandemic hit and it made me face some uncomfortable truths that I’d been hiding from for a little too long…

The Start Of A New Chapter
The Start Of A New Chapter

Last week, Tuesday the 24th of August we *finally* got married and it truly was the happiest day of my life. We both got to breathe a huge sigh of relief that it was happening and we didn’t have to think about what if we had to move it again or anything else going wrong. After moving it twice we were very ready to say I do and move onto the next chapter of our lives. I'm going to write a small series of blog posts about our wedding…

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Just a quick little post from me to you to wish you all a safe and wonderful Christmas and a thank you for all of your continued support this year. It's undoubtedly been one of the hardest years I’ve ever faced and I truly don't know what the next year will hold. Things in the world are extremely stressful and we’re all feeling some sort of heartache right now…

Let's Catch Up
Let's Catch Up

It’s been a couple of months since I’ve sat and opened my laptop raring to write a blog post, there’s been a few reasons for this which I won’t bore you with but I’m hoping that posts won’t be so sparse from now on. The last time I wrote a post I was full of plans for autumn but things quickly took a turn in the UK and right now we’re back in lockdown measures. Which certainly didn’t come as a shock but it’s come with its own set of worries and dread…

Let's Talk: Creatively Lulls In Lockdown

Hi, Hello? Remember me? Whilst, I know I don’t *have* to apologise for not posting anything I want to as I truly didn’t mean to be so quiet on the blog front or on the internet in general, to be honest. When lockdown in the UK was announced I thought it would be a time where I would get back into the swing of things with blogging…

Coming Off The Pill: 3 Months On
Coming Off The Pill: 3 Months On

It’s officially been over 3 months since I decided I was finally ready to stop taking the contraceptive pill. Those 3 months have passed by at a rapid rate but so many things have changed in that time for me. When I took my last Cilest pill, I wasn’t sure what to expect but my brain was prepared for things to be hard…

Ways To Support The Black Lives Matter Movement Now & Forever
Ways To Support The Black Lives Matter Movement Now & Forever

This week is one that will go down in history and I hope it sparks an extremely overdue conversation between people forever. For far too long, I’ve shamefully sat on the sidelines too worried about saying the wrong thing which is absolutely not ok. It’s so wrong…

Turning 30 in Lockdown & 30 For Thirties
Turning 30 in Lockdown & 30 For Thirties

A couple of weeks ago I hit the big thirty. It’s a birthday I’ve actually been really looking forward to but hitting a big milestone in the middle of a global pandemic felt a little strange to say the least. We did have plans to spend the weekend in the south but all those plans got cancelled and we stayed at home…

Getting Used To A New Normal
Getting Used To A New Normal

Writing blog posts seems a little strange right now. It feels weird not to talk about current events all the time because it’s something that is affecting everyone around the world and it’s incredibly serious. However, the constant talk about current events can be incredibly distressing and people undeniably need a little bit of escapism in times like this…

Let's Talk: Coming Off The Pill After 15 Years
Let's Talk: Coming Off The Pill After 15 Years

A big decision that I finally made this month is to come off the pill after 15 years of being on it. It’s something that’s been floating around in the back of my mind for a long time but I could never quite figure out what to do or what was right for me…

Everything That's Making Me Happy Right Now
Everything That's Making Me Happy Right Now

After what felt like the longest January on record I feel like I need to put something positive out into the online world as things feel far cheerier now we’ve entered February. Despite having two severe storms that have battered and flooded the UK the fact that it’s getting lighter earlier…

20 For 2020
20 For 2020

Lofty idealistic yearly goals are something that I’ve stopped setting myself. Last year I decided to have monthly goals instead and it worked so much better at not only keeping me motivated throughout the year but having goals that ebbed and flowed with my life rather than working against me…

Let's Talk...Getting Married
Let's Talk...Getting Married

Just in case you missed me jabbering on about it, which is doubtful but I’m getting married! In October my boyfriend and I will be getting married in our home city and it’s safe to say it’s probably going to be the highlight of our year but first, we’ve got to plan the thing…

My Blogging Manifesto 2020
My Blogging Manifesto 2020

Over the past couple of months and especially over my Christmas break I thought a lot about where I want this blog to go and what type of content that I want to put out in 2020 and continue into a new decade. While so many people have left their blogs behind to gather dust…

Happy New Year & What's To Come In 2020

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break if you were fortunate enough to have time off? This year I’ve fully embraced my break from work which isn’t something I usually do as I’m typically worrying about what I should or shouldn’t be doing and I’ve loved every single second of it, sometimes we all need a day laying on the sofa…

Just a quick little post from me to you to wish you all a safe and wonderful Christmas time and a thank you for all of your continued support this year. I’m so appreciative that I’ve had another year running this little internet page and I hope that it can continue into the next decade too. This time of year can be really tough on so many of us mentally…

Everything Awesome From The Past 10 Years
Everything Awesome From The Past 10 Years

It didn’t dawn on me until a few weeks ago that we’re entering a new decade in just a few weeks. As cliche as it is, I do love the feeling that a new year brings and I’m particularly excited to enter a new decade and everything that it can bring. I’ve been writing yearly review posts for quite a while now and they’re always something I get so much joy in.

The Fear Of A Quiet Inbox
The Fear Of A Quiet Inbox

The fear of a quiet inbox is something that every freelancer and business owner dreads and no matter how many times it happens to you it never feels any easier. This month marks my sixth year of running my own business and by now I thought I would have got somewhat used…

5 Things That Are Making Me Really Happy At The Moment
5 Things That Are Making Me Really Happy At The Moment

Despite October being quite possibly the most miserable start to autumn ever I’m pretty chipper at the moment which certainly isn’t the norm for me when the colder months come around. I’m working hard to change my mindset now we’re getting into A/W and instead of it being all doom and gloom with a ridiculous amount of rain and it getting dark earlier and earlier. There are plenty of things to look forward to when the seasons change and this is what is making me happy right now.

Why I'm Still Putting My Eggs In The Blogging Basket
Why I'm Still Putting My Eggs In The Blogging Basket

Every other week there is another post that gets published about it being the end of days for the blogging world. And there is no denying, the blogging world is much slower now but dying? Certainly not. I’m now entering my ninth year of creating content on this corner of the internet but I’ve had a blog in some sort of way for nearly 14 years now and I hope I always will in some capacity. Whilst many have jumped ship and put their focus on YouTube and Instagram I’m still very much focused on my blog and this is why.

Everything I've Learnt Being A Worrier
Everything I've Learnt Being A Worrier

Worrying has been part of my life for well, forever. I honestly think I might have been born worrying and for a long time, I thought it was completely normal to over analyse and hold onto situations for months upon months. And it’s safe to safe that’s certainly not a normal way to go through life but when you don’t know anything different then that becomes your normal. It wasn’t until I reached my mid-twenties did I realise just how much worrying was effecting my day to day life and this is everything all those years of worrying taught me.

So, I Tried Period Pants
So, I Tried Period Pants

-post contains gifted items-

A while ago I wrote a post all about the areas of my life where I’m trying to be more sustainable and one of those areas was my period. A topic that I don’t discuss online as generally, I don’t feel like I have much to add to the conversation as I’m lucky with my cycle. However, it is part of my life where I felt like I could improve when it came to being kinder to the planet. And for my last two periods, I’ve been giving the Modibodi period underwear a try and this is how I’ve found it.

What I Want To Achieve In The Rest Of 2019
What I Want To Achieve In The Rest Of 2019

We’re past the midway point of the year when it would have made the most sense to write this post but it doesn’t feel too late to talk about what I want to achieve with the rest of 2019. Something I’ve done differently this year is set myself more fine-tuned monthly goals rather than having huge things to work on throughout the year. But, there are some things that I feel like I’m constantly working towards and want to achieve by the end of the year and they look a little something like this.

Why It's So Important To Protect Your Mental Health Online
Why It's So Important To Protect Your Mental Health Online

When I began my blogging journey 8 years ago I never imagined that it would have a negative effect on my mental health. It was such a positive and joyous place to share my thoughts on whatever I was loving at the time and it’s not until recent years have I realised how important it is to protect your mental health online whether you’re a content creator or someone who consumes online content. You can’t move for posts and articles all about how the online world is so damaging for our self-esteem but what those posts always forget to mention is how much good the internet can do for people. I know there are certainly things that I struggle with but there are plenty more that I have to be grateful for and this is how I protect my mental health online.

Let's Talk: Feeling A Little Lost & Seriously Uninspired
Let's Talk: Feeling A Little Lost & Seriously Uninspired

During the June monsoon (my nickname for the last 10 days of horrific weather) my mental health very quickly plummeted. It probably wasn’t entirely the weather's fault but it certainly didn’t help matters for me and a lot of feelings came bubbling to the surface. Feeling uninspired is something that I hate, I’m so incredibly fortunate to have a creative job that so many people would absolutely love to have so when I’m not making the most of it then I feel like a terrible human.

3 Years Of Vegetarianism
3 Years Of Vegetarianism

June marks 3 years since I made the choice to cut meat from my diet and I can safely say that it’s the best decision that I’ve ever made. Diet isn’t something that I talk about a lot as it’s something that is so incredibly personal and what works for one certainly doesn’t work for all and we all know that preaching about an animal-free diet doesn’t inspire anyone to make a change. All that being said though, today I wanted to share what 3 years of vegetarianism has looked like for me.

30 Before 30
30 Before 30

Last weekend I turned 29, which means I’ve entered the final year of my twenties which quite frankly is a relief. The beginning of my twenties was full of anxiety and worry and even though I know that I’ll never say goodbye to those feelings entirely the fact I feel a lot more settled in who I am as a human is not something I take for granted at all. 30 feels like a huge milestone to reach as well after so many uncertainties in my younger years I know getting to that point will feel way more exciting than turning eighteen or twenty-one. And here are 30 things that I’d really like to achieve before I turn 30.

5 Things I Find Comforting When My Mental Health Is Low
5 Things I Find Comforting When My Mental Health Is Low

I don’t know what it is about the end of April that I find so hard but just like clockwork, my mental health feels pretty low. We’re only just coming out winter in the UK and I imagine there are still plenty of chilly days ahead as I don’t find it truly warms up until about June, and the lack of sunny days certainly take their toll after a while that’s for sure. Over the years, I’ve developed a mental health tool kit when I notice things are slipping and these are all the things that I find to be a huge comfort when I might not be feeling my finest.

What To Do When Social Media Isn’t Making You Feel Good
What To Do When Social Media Isn’t Making You Feel Good

From the title, I know what you’re probably thinking but don’t worry this isn’t another post telling you that social media is evil, think of this as more of a cautionary tale. As I'm a human who absolutely loves social media and all the things that it’s done for my life, after all without it I wouldn’t be sitting at home typing out this post for you to hopefully enjoy. But, I’m also not someone who doesn’t acknowledge that when used incorrectly it can be incredibly detrimental to our mental health and can have serious consequences. And over the past year I really have fallen into a bad pattern of behaviour with social media and here is what I’m doing to not only fall back in love with it but prevent myself from doing the same thing all over again.
