The Best Barely There Blushes

Barely there blush shades are my favourite type of shades to wear. Having freckles speckled all over my cheeks makes it quite difficult to find colours that don't make my complexion appear muddy. These shades might not look like much at first glance but once applied they give you that perfect flush of colour whilst managing to slightly sculpt the cheek too. Here are my top three which are perfect for a minimal makeup look or to compliment a bold lip or eye.

NARS BLUSH - DOUCEUR: I feel so guilty talking about this shade as it's been discontinued, but I live in hope that they will bring it back one day [please Nars? love, the entire beauty community]. This is the most sculpting option out of the all the blushes I own, it does all sorts of magic to my hamster esque cheeks.  The formula is second to none, it's just that right mixture of being buttery soft without a ton of fallout out upon application. You do have to swirl your brush around a little more to pick this shade up, which personally I prefer as it makes it fool proof to apply. Like you would expect from any Nars product, it's incredibly long lasting on the cheeks. Even if all my other makeup has worn away this will still be clinging on.

HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHT BLUSH - MOOD EXPOSURE: The latest shade to join my barely there blush collection. I've been gooey eyed over these blushes since they were released but the price is slightly eye-watering and you can get an incredible dupe from Maxfactor for a 1/3 of the price. The shade Mood Exposure is just beautiful, a mauve and a dusky pink concoction with a tiny amount of shimmer that adds a beautiful subtle glow to the skin and eliminates the need for any highlighter. I do wish the lasting power was a little better, but it's the shade that just wins me over every time.

TARTE 12 HOUR AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH - EXPOSED: When I've got a long day ahead this is the shade that I usually go for because the lasting power is like nothing else, even better than the Nars offering. The Tarte blushes are renowned for being incredibly pigmented and they really are, even with this tawny pink shade you can easily go overboard. Dreamy formulation aside the packaging the of the Tarte blushes really pulls at my materialistic heart strings as they are colour coordinated to go coincide with what colour is on the inside. As the Nars option is no longer available I would say this is the next best thing, it's just a touch more pink.
