The Lazy Girls Eyeshadow Essentials

-this post contains gifted PR products-

A product that I absolutely love to wear and never skip is eyeshadow. But, truth be told…I’m terrible at applying it and have absolutely no skills when it comes to creating a beautifully defined eye look and stick to one wash wonders. So that means I typically go for products that can easily be used alone which means they have to be the best of the best. It’s taken me a long time to find those products that work without question but I finally have and these are my favourites for the lazy girl who loves eyeshadow.

liquid eyeshadow

I have a couple of liquid eyeshadows in my collection and upon first use, I wasn’t sure if they were for me or not. I was worried they would be quite difficult to apply and then end up smearing all over my lid but that isn’t the case at all. As of right now, my favourite is the Zoella x ColourPop liquid eyeshadow (gifted). What I love the most about products like this is that they’re so easy to apply. The doe-foot applicator is similar to what you’d get with any tube of concealer and all you have to do is swipe them onto the lid and then you can blend them in with either your finger or a flat brush. When I want an eye look with a little more pizazz then this is what I reach for as it’s maximum effect with minimum effort. And for such a shimmery lid look it’s very comfortable to wear all day too which often isn’t the case.

a has it all palette

As a brunette, I feel quite fortunate that I can somewhat easily find an eyeshadow palette that has a shade that in that I can use for my brows as well as a plethora of shades to choose from for my lids. The best pre-made palette I’ve ever found is the Tartlette In Bloom palette (gifted), it’s a seriously beautiful collection of shades and something that I use every single day. I do have a very old MAC palette that I do love but this has the edge over that because it’s got a huge mirror which is so handy when travelling especially. It’s not too cool or too warm toned which isn’t always the easiest thing to find in palettes but this sits perfectly in the middle for me. The quality of the shadows is excellent, so buttery and soft but not so much so that they just fall away from the eye, they last well even without the use of a primer.

zoeva make-up brushes

For me, one of the most important things in my entire beauty routine is the tools that I use. And Zoeva (some brushes have been gifted and some have been purchased with my own money) are a brand I know I can rely on to aid my beauty routine. The Zoeva eye brushes are absolutely fantastic and make eyeshadow application a breeze. I like to switch between a fluffy one and then a flat-topped one as they can do absolutely everything that I need. A fluffy blending brush is perfect for any pressed shadow and then the flat option is ideal for packing something more shimmery onto the lid and make sure it stays put. I've had my brushes for years now and they've held up beautifully and I imagine they'll still be in my collection for many years to come.
