We've Finally Found The One-Sie

Josie and Edie have a well-stocked wardrobe, there is no denying that fact but one thing they were missing was a soft slimline onsie. This type of attire is very common in Italian greyhound clothing ranges but not something you often find made for a whippet, so when an e-mail popped into my inbox from Royal Hound Clothing asking if we’d like to test out a product of our choice. I knew which one of their products would be making their way to us from Australia and we’ve finally found the one-sie.

something to keep even the shiveriest hounds warm

If you have a sighthound, you’ll probably know how cold they can get in A/W and Edie is a particularly shivery girl so keeping her warm is incredibly important so she can enjoy her walks. Striking the balance between keeping her warm and making sure her outerwear is functional is often difficult, she loves to race around the woods with Josie so anything that restricts her movement at all or causes irritation is a big no-no but thankfully there are plenty of awesome hound attire brands who give you both warmth and practicality for an active dog. For a while, I wanted to find a super soft onesie that would be kind to both girl's thin skin but it also needed to slim and snug on their limbs to retain warmth on those super cold days. Josie doesn’t require as much warmth on walks when they’re whizzing around with each other but on walks where they’re only poddling or on their lead having something super snug is integral in winter for both of their happiness levels.

The Royal Hound Full Suit Turtleneck Sporty Fleece (gifted) has been a great addition to their cold-weather wardrobes, it’s exactly what I’ve always wanted from a onesie but never be able to find until now. It almost reminds me of a hoody but for a dog with it’s soft fleece on in the inside and sweater material on the outside. As it’s so soft on the inside we’ve not had any issues with rubbing and causing any irritation even when full zooms have commenced either which is brilliant. And despite the fit being so snug once on I don’t these particularly difficult to put the dogs in, if they’re used to wearing a jumper you’ll have no issues getting them in these.

royal hound clothing

A brand that I’d never heard of until an e-mail dropped in my inbox from them is Royal Hound and I’m so glad I know about them now, they have such a lovely range of attire for hounds. They’re a Melbourne based brand that specialise in Italian greyhound clothing but do make custom pieces on request for whippets and greyhounds. Something that really stood out to me about Royal Hound is their efforts to be a more sustainable brand which is something that is so important to me when buying something for the dogs. Everything is sourced and produced in Melbourne and they also run a recycling programme so when you’re done with your item you can pop it back to them and they’ll properly handle it which is amazing in a world where fast fashion is rife and causing such damage to the planet.
