Maintaining Mermaid Tresses

Since growing out my hair to 'mermaid' length [girls, you know what this length means] I've found that my tresses need a lot more lovin'. My hair care routine has been lacking and most days it's just wrapped up in a ballerina bun and left alone. So, I've really needed to up my game in the hair stakes and work hard to maintain that dreamy mermaid length that I've worked so hard to achieve.

GARNIER ULTIMATE BLENDS THE STRENGTH RESTORER RANGE: After being in a little bit of a shampoo rut for a few months, I knew I needed to switch things up. I spotted this new range from Garnier on offer for a mere £2 for these huge bottles and being the sucker for bee's that I am I picked it up. My hair was feeling a little weak so I wanted something that would help to restore its strength without weighing it down and making it lank and heavy. Apart from the absolutely dreamy scent I'm completely in love with how this makes my hair feel. It feels so nourished, smooth and strong whilst still being light enough to have a little bit of bounce which is key for the lived-in look that I love.

BUMBLE AND BUMBLE HAIRDRESSERS OIL PRIMER*: My favourite product from the entire invisible oil range. This primer works to protect your hair from the sun and heat, detangle and defrizz and it really does do just that. Even with that bounty of benefits it's not heavy on the hair, just nourishing. It's a pricey investment but as it does so much for your hair in one and cuts out the need to purchase 3 extra products, I think it's totally worth it.

OGX KUKUI OIL*: Frizzy hair luckily has never been an issue for me but fly away hair is. Hair oil has a ton of benefits which is why it's been a complete staple in my routine for years. The entire Kukui Oil range is a firm favourite of mine, it's incredibly hydrating and the smell is absolutely delicious. Dreamy scent aside, this oil is perfect if you want to hydrate your hair, but you don't want to weigh it down. As it's in spritz form it's easy to get a little carried away with application so make sure you don't get this in your roots as that is a one-way ticket to grease ville.

TANGLE TEEZER*: If I could pin point one item that has helped my hair reach the length that it has it would be my Tangle Teezer. I don't brush my hair a lot at all, once a day if that so when I do it might be a little more knotty than I would like. The Tangle Teezer just makes light work of this and doesn't rip your hair out, like the name suggests it simply teases the knots out. You can get them in a bunch of different designs my favourite is the Aqua Splash Tangle Teezer, as you can grip onto this a lot better, it makes it nearly impossible to fly out of your hand.

What are your favourite hair care products?
