The Homebodies Guide To Entertaining

As we're now well into the festive season it means that you're more than likely seeing your loved ones and entertaining. As I'm such a big homebody there is nothing I love more than blending the two together and seeing my favourite people in the comfort of our homes. And today in collaboration with Robinsons and their new Fruit Creations range I'm going to be sharing a couple of awesome things you can do this holiday season without having to leave the comfort of your own home.

HOW TO HAVE A WORK CHRISTMAS PARTY IF YOU’RE SELF- EMPLOYED

It's been a good few years since I've been to a work Christmas party and now both my boyfriend and I are self-employed we don't have one to attend. So we have our own little party, which usually involves me curling up on the sofa with a new book, him playing a game and Josie curling up asleep between us getting up for the occasional wrestle. And that's exactly how we like it, we love being at home with all our comforts, our sweatpants, an open fire, snacks and drinks flowing. Which is where the Robinsons new range comes in. They've created two new ranges; Fruit Creations and Fruit Cordials- both are designed to appeal to adults. I've been testing Fruit Creations Crisp Apple and Elderflower and Fruit Creations Rich Pear Blackcurrant and Cherry and they're sublime. With the help of some flavour experts, Robinsons have blended together some of my all-time favourite flavours such as apple & elderflower and pear, blackcurrant and cherry. Fruit Creations contains twice the fruit of Robinsons single concentrate and contains no added sugar or artificial flavouring, leaving you feeling refreshed and hydrated. Neither of us drinks alcohol so options like this are perfect for occasions as you still get to enjoy something delicious without that nasty nausea that seems to catch up with you even faster when you're older.

A FEW THINGS TO DO FOR YOUR SELF-EMPLOYMENT PARTY

As I know there are a few people who read this who are also their own bosses here are a few things to do to celebrate getting to the end of the year and hopefully taking some time off!

  • Book club
  • A movie night
  • A pizza party
  • Boardgame night

HAPPY FRIENDMAS

For the last few years, my best friend and I have always had the ritual of spending a little more time with each other around the festive season as we're both so busy with work all year round. And this is where Friendmas was born, we have an evening of snacks and then our own vegetarian and dairy free Christmas dinner together with our partners. The new additions from Robinsons were perfect for our snack evening and will be ideal for our dinner as none of us drink alcohol anymore. The festive period is typically where people drink the most and I cut alcohol out of my life a few years ago and it's made such a big difference to my well being. I'm always left feeling so much fresher and happier from an evening out rather than before when I used to become so unwell for days following drinking. And not only do I not have to worry about feeling unwell I'm always full of beans the day after. There is always a slightly strange stigma around not drinking alcohol. But if it's not your thing or if you just want to switch around things this year in order to feel a little fresher to enjoy more of your time away from work then be sure to try out these new grown-up options from Robinsons.
