Everywhere We Shop For Josie & Edie

Before getting Josie I truly believed all I’d need to do was go to a pet shop and surely I’d be able to get everything I need, right? Oh, how wrong I was and that's the reason why I want to write a post listing all the places that we shop and love. I’m so pleased to say that nearly all of these places are small businesses too which is something that brings me so much joy as well as Josie and Edie.

where we shop

redhound for dogs

Our favourite place to buy our outerwear is undoubtedly Redhound for Dogs, from the fleece jumpers to the wax coats the selection and design of Redhound attire is incredible. All of the items we own have lasted us so well and never failed us no matter how many fox poo rolls or wrestling matches they’ve had in them. Next on our list to buy is some of the beautiful leather collars, just got to choose a colour which is tricky when there are so many lovely ones on offer.

bella and duke

Hands down the best complete raw food supplier we found price-wise and there is never a morsel of food left in the dog's bowls. I love that the food is a very fine mince too as there’s some raw food that we’ve tried in the past that is too chunky which doesn’t seem to go down well. Their delivery system can be a little difficult to work around but other than that I cannot rate Bella and Duke highly enough.

devil dood direct

There isn’t much you can’t find at Devil Dood Direct and it’s always somewhere that I peruse when we need some fresh treats and chews. As well as the best selection of treats you can also find some brilliant accessories at DDD, we have some beautiful custom rope leads and they’ve become our favourite leads to use without a doubt.

brindle & whyte

For traditional martingale collars with a beautiful matching lead our favourite place to shop is Brindle & Whyte. We have a few collars from there and I cannot rate them highly enough for not only a highly practical collar but a beautifully designed one too.

the trendy whippet

Our leather collar from The Trendy Whippet is one of our best purchases from the past year, they’ve withstood so many wrestling matches and fox poo rolls it’s quite remarkable. The store carries several other lovely items from knitted jumpers to traditional hound coats but our stand out has been their leather collars.

butternut box

For homecooked food without the hassle Butternut Box is wonderful and makes this type of diet so much easier to maintain if you haven’t got the time (or skill like me). We switch between homecooked and raw just so it keeps Josie and Edie interested and I don’t have a preference over the two and neither do they.

tk maxx or homesense

There’s a brand of toys called Zippypaws that aren’t easy to find in the UK but you can regularly find them in TK Maxx or Homesense. Our favourite is the burrow toys, not only do they have the cutest designs but they’re also a lot of fun for the dogs to play with.

paws home comforts

The most used bed in our household and the one we get the most questions about is our cave bed from a brand called Paws Home Comforts. It’s a grey velour type of material so it’s super soft on sensitive whippet skin and the pad is still plush and comfortable 2 years on.

the dog & I

For a really beautiful natural dog soap that is sustainably made and eco friendly than look no further than The Dog & I. It’s the best soap that I’ve ever used, lathers incredibly well and leaves Josie and Edie with a shiny flake free coat and they smell wonderful too. Not only is it awesome for a full deep clean in the shower but it’s all brilliant for a spot clean if they’ve got a little bit of fox poo on them somewhere.

small businesses that come highly recommended

Whilst there are a lot of awesome brands we’ve tried and love it’s impossible to try all the amazing brands out there so here are the ones that we frequently get recommend to try;
