Class of 2012

As I finally had my graduation ceremony yesterday I thought I would do a proper post on things such as what I wore and what make up I decided on for the day so lets begin.
Outfit wise I went in a very neutral direction with a jaquard pattern dress from Topshop which looked lovely under my robes as I wanted to add just a kick of pattern underneath the drab attire. Accessories were kept to a minimum as they weren't going to be seeing so I didn't want to be faffing about with making sure everything looked right. Black suede heels from New Look gave me that extra bit of height as I think otherwise the gown would have completely swamped me and they actually were actually quite comfy for the entire day. Finally a little brown waist belt and my trusty vintage satchel bag.

Make up wise oh boy did I have fun. Base wise I went with my usual under eye concealer which is the Garnier eye roll on but I think I have grown a little tired of as its not as illuminating as I would like. Now I have a new foundation in my life which I actually just bought for graduation as that is the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation in the shade 'rose ivory' the colour match is dreamy and so far so good with this foundation it is giving me everything I want in a base. To conceal any spotty bits I used the Collection lasting perfection as that never fails. I filled my brows in as usual with MAC Mystery shadow to make sure they were nice and defined and then ran some clear mascara over them. Cheek wise I went with the Sleek blush in 'pomegranate' which is a beautiful dusty berry shade and probably my favourite blush for the colder months. My MAC MSF in Soft & Gentle made the cut for today and I swept this over my cheek bones, brow bone, down my nose and cupids bow to make sure the light was hitting me in all the right places. Eyes were kept pretty simple with the use of MACS 'naked lunch' all over the lid and then to create some definition I use MAC 'blackberry' in the crease which a beautiful matt heathery purple shade. I then used the Rimmel eyeliner in 'nude' in my waterline to make sure I was looking wide awake and then another Rimmel eyeliner in stormy grey just on the corner to create a little more definition. Then my new mascara combination came into play and with the use of these two it gave me voluminous whilst still looking natural lashes and not a smudge in sight. The last step was lips and for that I went with the Revlon lip butter in 'berry smoothie' I love this shade and it looked lovely and natural and wore well for the day.

My graduation was held at the Cheltenham Racecourse (famous for the Gold Cup) and it was a beautiful day the sun decided to show its face and there wasn't a cloud in sight. I had a lovely day it was nice to finally have the ceremony as I suppose it didn't feel final till I had worn that silly hat. My Dad & Sister presented me with roses and champagne in the morning which was lovely and I am looking forward to drinking that tonight.
So thats that my graduation over. I am now officially a graduate with a First Class Honours degree under my belt, I dont think I will be able to explain how happy I am with the result I got.
I hope if you have graduated this year that you had a lovely day and if you haven't yet that dont worry everybody thinks that they are going to fall over walking up to that stage and no one does.
