Ever Hyped

It has to be said that the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo is probably this years Bioderma with how much hype surrounds it. I really try to not give into the hype around skincare because it is such a personal thing and is so subjective to each one of us. However I was having a wander round Boots as I usually do and before I knew I had picked it up and payed for it and I am so pleased I did. I dont have particularly bad skin at all especially after I had the contraceptive implant removed which pretty much gave me cystic acne (nightmare) but I do get the odd blemish around that particular time on the month.

When I first started using this my skin purged because as it says this is a corrective and pore unclogging product and it did just that. All the nasties that had been lurking in my pores were coming out and whilst it sucked to have quite a few spots I knew it was just doing its job. But two months on I have noticed a huge difference in my skin and it is all down to this product as everything else has stayed consistant (I fear change in my skincare routine). I feel I should make this clear now this product is not to be used a spot treatment it cant directly target spots. It does help with spots because it unclogs your pores which is the cause of spots. The main difference is my skin is my overall complexion it looks so much cleaner and my pores are practically non existent anymore now obviously I still do have pores (around my nose) but they are no where near what they used to be. The spots I do get are just small blemishes and are gone in a matter of two days when the used to hang around for weeks and I dont get any scarring anymore.

I will definitely be re-purchasing this when I run out because it has become such a staple in my routine. I do use this day & night after my toner before my moisturiser as this can be the tinniest bit drying so I need a good dose of moisturiser after.

So what is your opinion on this product? Love or loathe?
