The best from the beauty boxes
Beauty boxes are a pretty marmite product you either love them or you hate them. For the past few months I have been luckily enough to receive the Beauteco Box/ Love Me Beauty box* and I have gathered my favourite products together. What sets this beauty box from the rest is that you get 3 menus to choose from instead of a set of 5/6 items as that way you are bound to discover some beauty brands that you love.
By receiving these boxes I have been able to try some brands that I may have dismissed before and not given a chance. Quite a few hair items that have become staples of my routine are the Neal & Wolf Elevate Volumising lotion*, Neal & Wolf Harmony deep conditioner* and the Weleda Nourishing Shampoo*. The volumising lotion gives my hair body and lift whilst still hydrating it without weighing it down and it doesn't make my hair sticky either, if my hair is feeling a little dry I run the deep conditioner through the ends for a few minutes and my hair is left silky smooth. Both of these products smell absolutely incredible and the smell still lingers when I have blow dried it too which is something I really like in haircare. I struggle to find a shampoo that can nourish my hair without making it too heavy or even worse greasy but this small sample of the Weleda Nourishing shampoo* has the perfect balance of hydration without making my hair too soft that I can't do anything with it.
Oddly only one make up item made the cut and that is the Lord & Berry Kissproof Liner* in the shade blossom. By far my most used lip product other than lip balm, this gives a beautiful but natural wash of colour on the lips as I like to use it in a the same way you would use a lip crayon. If you pop a matte lip balm under this or just a normal balm over the top to ensure it doesn't dry your lips out it will become a staple in your lip colour wardrobe. After my beloved Boots Botanics eye make up remover was reformulated I gave up with trying to find a good one that didn't sting my eyes. Enter the Amie Bright Eyes* by far this is the best eye make up remover I have ever used, it removes every scrap of mascara and eyeshadow with ease without any irritation to the eye at all.
Manual exfoliation got kicked to the curb when the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner came into my life that stuff sloughs away dead skin cells like nothing else. The Eve of St Agnes Refining Polish* has become a firm part of skincare routine now it works perfectly at buffing away any dry flakes that might be clinging on. To conclude my favourites is the Nip + Fab Dry Leg Fix* this is the moisturiser when my legs feel horribly dry and are feeling generally uncomfortable. Whilst I love typical body butter formulas they aren't the quickest at sinking in and I don't like getting into bed feeling sticky, this absorbs into the skin at record time which means it can be used in the daytime too. The scent of this however is pretty sickly sweet so if you aren't a fan of sweet smells I would avoid this one as it does linger on the skin.
