Dynamic Duos

Don't be fooled by the title, I'm talking about dynamic beauty duos not Batman & Robin or Mulder & Scully. These days I have a slightly more minimal makeup collection so that means I really know what works well together. Even though pretty much everything, I own, could be paired up there are just some items that work just that much better as a pair and here are some of my favourites.

Clarins Tinted Moisturiser* & Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation: When I don't feel in the mood for a foundation I will always reach for this tinted moisturiser from Clarins*. It provides a beautiful lightweight base whilst still offering a good enough level of coverage to cover up anything I don't want to be glaringly obvious but it doesn't have the greatest lasting power so this is when it's partner steps in. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation is something I absolutely love to use as a setting powder because it offers extra coverage as well as helping your makeup stay all day. The two together provide a great base in the summer months as it's long lasting as well as being light on the skin.

MAC Soft & Gentle & Tarte Exposed Blush: I must be trying to win some sort of record with how much I mention this blush from Tarte but if you've missed my incessant ramblings then here is a quick run down. It's a muted pink that adds definition to the cheek as well as a flush of colour and can be worn with pretty much any makeup look.  It looks particularly awesome with MAC Soft & Gentle, my go to highlighter and the two together are glowy sculpted cheek perfection.

MeMeMe Dew Pot*Lancome Colour Design Luminous Eyeshadow: In the warmer months, my eyelids can become two oil slicks. This means that no matter what shadow I apply, it tends to crease within about an hour so I need something that is really going to withstand the heat. Enter the longest-lasting makeup duo I possess, the MeMeMe* Dew Pot has become a real staple for me over the past year as it makes a fantastic base for any eye look or is great worn alone. Paired with this Lancome Shadow I never have to worry about creasing as I know that my shadow will last all day and then some.

Laura Mercier Silk Créme Foundation & MAC Lightscapade Powder: When my skin needs some serious coverage I always reach for LM Silk Créme, it offers an incredible amount of coverage without looking horribly unnatural. If my skin underneath is looking dehydrated and lacklustre then I need something that can add some life back into it and this is when it's MAC Lightscapade to the rescue. This is a beautiful illuminating powder that adds a serious amount of radiance without being overly shimmery or glittery.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation & MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural: For those days when I want to wear makeup but I don't want to look I am this is the combination that I reach for. I recently rediscovered the Revlon Nearly Naked and I forgot just how good it is, it gives a beautiful natural finish to the skin whilst still giving medium coverage which is great for the blemish prone amongst us. As it's not incredibly long lasting I like to pair it with my most natural looking powder which is the MAC MSF Natural which seems to the gift that just doesn't stop giving. This sets everything into place for the day without looking unnatural or too powdery.
