Pixi Glow Tonic
Last year was the year of the exfoliating toners and by far the most hyped us was the Pixi Glow Tonic. The beauty community went wild over this and it was pretty difficult to get hold of as you couldn't purchase it online and could only do a phone order or grab it in store. I picked it up a good few weeks a go now as it works out the best value for money compared to the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner and the Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner which I've used and loved. My hopes were pretty high for this and I have given it a fair trial period although I was disappointed with the change in packaging as the pump seemed so easy to use.
My skin reacts really well to glycolic acid and ever since working some sort of skincare item with the golden ingredient into my routine the general texture and tone of my complexion is a lot more radiant and smooth. I used to suffer with cystic acne on my chin which was pretty nasty and all down to the contraceptive implant, I never knew it would do so much damage to my skin. So I have some scars and generally quite a lot of redness left in that area and that is my main concern of trying to help it repair itself. The Pixi Glow Tonic contains 5% of glycolic acid which is higher than the Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner which contains 2% so I'm always conscience of wearing an SPF so my skin isn't more open to sun damage. I use this every single day AM & PM and always follow up with something hydrating afterwards like the Organic Surge Orange Flower Toner or the Liz Earle Skin Tonic.
The AHA's work well at smoothing out the tone of my skin and sloughs away dead skin cells to leave a more radiant complexion. As this contains a lot of fruit enzymes and a few of my favourite ingredients when it comes to my skincare which is ginzing, aloe vera and witch hazel my skin is always so smooth after using it never dry or stripped. Whenever I do get any blemishes which are mostly hormonal or stress related they are so much less angry and heal within a couple of days when I used to have spots that lasted for weeks. Compared to the other options out there is up with being incredibly gentle of the skin much like the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner which contains glycerin. Along with the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo + it is helping me towards a better looking complexion and I will probably stick with this option for a good while now as you get more bang for your buck.
