TV Shows For Lovers Of Sarcasm

Something that is always hard to get across in blog posts is how much I love sarcasm & dry wit. And I really love tv shows or comedies that have a strong element of those two things throughout. And I know that so many other people in the blogging world are also big fans of this type of comedy too so I thought I would round up my favourite tv shows today that have a strong  sarcasm and dry wit factor to them.

WORKAHOLICS

Workaholics is a show that combines sarcasm with a lot of pretty silly humour too which makes it a really easy watch. It's an American comedy that follows three best friends Adam, Blake and Anders who are roommates and work together in the same office job. They are also the predominant writers of the show which always makes me think that it's largely based on who they are off screen. I don't think that this is a show that's everyone as it is a little crazy but worth a watch if you're after a show that's light-hearted and funny.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT

This has to be the show with probably the driest humour I've ever watched. And for that reason, it can be a little difficult to get into and it took me quite a few episodes to understand the angle and humour. It follows the Bluth family who was a formally wealthy family whose lives have gone into complete disarray. The way that this programme is like nothing else I've watched before as it goes back into the past quite a lot and often has a voice over. Even though it takes a little while to get into I think it's a show that's well worth watching. If you're really into your dry wit and sarcasm and who doesn't love a Michael Cera in his early awkward days?

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

I think like most F.R.I.E.N.D.S was my first foray into a more sarcastic type of humour and it's loved by so many for that reason. I think it's difficult not to love Chandler Bing at some point. It's a show that is like a huge comfort blanket for me and no matter how many times I see the episodes I still find myself laughing along and getting sucked into the story line all over again.

THE OFFICE

I've lost count of how many times I've professed my love for The Office but it's my all time favourite tv show. It's a mockumentary based on the office workers of a fictional paper company Dundler Mifflin. The dynamic of the incredible cast of the show it truly made this so fantastic. They work so well together and there is a huge amount of variance between them. The episodes are only 20 minutes long which makes it incredibly easy to watch as you don't need to invest a huge amount of time to it like some shows but you'll still find yourself sucked in and deeply invested in Pam & Jim.

PARKS AND RECREATION

This is another mockumentary type show which is probably why I love it so much. It follows the people who work in the parks and recreation department in Pawnee, Indiana. On the surface, it sounds incredibly dull but it's such a fantastic show, it reminds me a lot of The Office and Workaholics combined.  The characters are what really makes this show for me as they're absolutely incredible that I just can't pick a favourite but I do have a deep love for April & Ron. Much like Arrested Development, I find P&R takes a few episodes to get into but once you're past the first season it's such an awesome one to watch.

What are your favourite tv shows that incorporate a lot of sarcasm?
