This week I read an incredible extract from Sali Hughes new book Pretty Iconic where she discussed her journey with makeup and products from her past and the memories that were attached to it. And it inspired me to think about my own relationship with beauty right from childhood to current day. Of course, I had to support this post with a tonne of images from my past as they're always hilarious to look back on. If you were fortunate enough to miss my sad pitiful tweets and Parks & Rec gif's about being sick last week, I had a cold. And naturally when you have a cold your complexion takes a beating and you don't look your best. Even when you try and hide it under makeup it often looks pretty terrible as you've developed dry patches in strange places and trying to buff foundation in with a streaming nose isn't an easy task. So here is a quick little beauty edit for the days you have to apply makeup and face the day but need to combat a cold-ridden complexion. 

Considering that I've been prattling on about beauty for over 5 years on this little corner of the internet. It seems strange that I've never shared the ladies who I take inspiration from when it comes to the makeup looks I go for and the women who inspire me about beauty in general. So here are 5 of my biggest beauty inspirations who never fail to give me a big dose of motivation. 

Every year without fail my skin completely freaks out when the weather changes. This year was a little different however as I had one of the rare beauty addict moments where everything I was using came to an end all at the same time. So it was the perfect opportunity to go back to a few old faithful products as well as trying out something new. And those products have cleared up my little freakout nicely so of course, I had to share them in case your skin has the same pesky habit when we switch seasons.
