The 24 Hours In London Beauty Edit AKA How To Pack Seriously Light

Last week I spent 24 hours in London and it was pretty jam packed. And a skill that I'm pretty proud of and typically don't get to use a lot is my ability to pack, years of university and long distance relationships has prepared me well for packing and keeping things to a minimum. And a mere 24 hours in the capital didn't call for a suitcase so it was overnight bag situation. And as I was going to the one carrying it I knew it had to be light because I'm pretty feeble. Which meant that my beauty stash had to be kept at a minimum and here is how I kept things light but didn't scrimp on the products that I love.

6 Of The Best Shows To Watch On Netflix Right Now

If you're anything like me you probably love your Netflix account a little too much and spend way too many hours trying to find the latest shows to binge your way through. And something I have to admit I'm pretty terrible for is rewatching the same show over and over again as my favourites are like comfort blankets to me, whenever I'm feeling a little anxious or stressed they're what I go for. But lately, I've challenged myself to watch a few new things and as I know that I always want to know what other people are watching I hope this post might provide some inspiration if you're in a little bit of a slump.

Getting Things Done When Your Mind Won't Shut Up

If somebody told you that they have a busy mind that's difficult to switch off you might presume that means that they're really good at getting stuff done. And I'd like to sit here and tell you, yes it does but I actually find it to have the complete opposite effect. I really struggle when it comes to getting to-do list ticked off when my mind just won't shut up. I've talked about having a busy mind before and it was actually Carrie's post a few months ago that made me really think about it. Lately, my mind has been a lot busier than even my standard busy state and I know I've found work even more difficult to get through but here is a few things that have helped me so if you're a fellow non-stop thinker then keep on reading.

A Mascara Showdown

Mascara is a tricky beauty product to talk about as what we want differs so much as well as of course, having completely different lashes and I find even your skin type can interfere with how a product performs. But mascara is without a doubt one of my favourite products to try as it's one of those instant gratification items and you instantly know whether it's something that works or not. So I've rounded up all the mascaras that I've used in the past few months to share with you, some I've loved and some have been a huge disappointment.

Style Pieces I've Fallen Back In Love With Lately

As you can probably tell by the amount of style content that has been on the blog recently it's something that I've really been enjoying. And whilst treating yourself to new style pieces is awesome and something I'm sure that we all get some enjoyment from it's not always possible to buy new things. The term shopping your stash is usually reserved for beauty products but something I've done lately is gone through my wardrobe and rekindled my love for a few pieces that I've either had for a few months or even a couple of years. So here are the style pieces that I've fallen back in love with recently.

Let's Talk About Hair...Loss & Lines

Covering those really awkward beauty conversations is something that I've made a really conscious effort to do over the years. Because even though part of cringes that I've written about having horrible ingrown pubic hairs I know that whenever I'm brave enough to share that I'm never alone and hey it happens to the best of us. Something that has been on my mind a lot lately is hair, in particular, hairlines and loss because as a female I'm not sure we ever talk about these topics and it's usually on the guys. To be completely candid my hair has been falling out at a rate that's not quite normal and it's made me wonder how many others girls go through the same thing and are too scared to talk about it?

Why I Stopped Keeping Myself Small Because I Was Too Scared To No Longer Be A Wallflower

Why I Stopped Keeping Myself Small Because I Was Too Scared To No Longer Be A Wallflower

Something that I've never been afraid to say on online is that I'm quite a fearful person. And I'm not even sure at this point what exactly I'm afraid of. But I'm such a scaredy cat and because of that, I've always wanted to keep myself small. Which seems like a very odd thing for someone who works in the online field as I'm sure it seems obvious that to keep on making a living this way that I need to grow. It's something that I've always known I've done and not wanted to admit, not to myself or to anyone else. After a two-hour work meeting, I had a lightbulb moment and I realised that I've purposely stopped myself doing awesome things because I've been so afraid to be anything but a wallflower. I'm not someone who likes attention that much, compliments make me nervous and the thought of being the centre of anything makes me want to hide. But stopping myself being small doesn't mean that I suddenly need to be the centre of attention. And this is a struggle I know that I'm probably not alone in so I wanted to open up a conversation about it in today's post.

The Classic Beauty Edit: The Ones You Know You Can Trust

The beauty lovers of the world will know the excitement that comes with a fresh launch and promises of what could be the next best thing. We try new things because they're fun and exciting but that doesn't mean we don't have the old classics that we know we can return to again and again. They're like an old sweater to us...friendly, comfortable and know exactly what we need them to do and when to do it. I'm sure we all have our own requirements of what can make the classic beauty product cut and why it has that status in our collection. And here is my edit, it's ever changing and evolving but everything on this list works [for me] without question.

Why I'm Obsessed With The Anti-Haul & My Own

As well as the whole decluttering trend that's sweeping the web right now there has been something else that's been catching my attention and I'm all sorts of obsessed with it. The Anti Haul is the complete opposite of what we're used to seeing on the likes of blogs and YouTube channels and it's incredibly refreshing. It all began with Kimberly Clarke I believe? Not a content creator that I'm familiar with but when The Anna Edit put her own spin on the whole thing I was hooked. Hearing the things that people won't buy is so fascinating and something I've been enjoying more than regular hauls so of course, I had to put my own together.
