5 Things I Find Comforting When My Mental Health Is Low

I don’t know what it is about the end of April that I find so hard but just like clockwork, my mental health feels pretty low. We’re only just coming out winter in the UK and I imagine there are still plenty of chilly days ahead as I don’t find it truly warms up until about June, and the lack of sunny days certainly take their toll after a while that’s for sure. Over the years, I’ve developed a mental health tool kit when I notice things are slipping and these are all the things that I find to be a huge comfort when I might not be feeling my finest.

A Few Beauty Favourites At The Moment

-post contains PR samples-

It’s been a while since I’ve written about my most loved beauty products. Mostly because I’m a serious creature of habit and recently I went through a phase where I wasn’t wearing makeup at all but that’s a 100% down to laziness rather than anything else. The end of winter always gets to me mentally but now we’re finally coming into the warmer months my love for applying certain products is coming back and this is everything that I’m loving right now beauty wise.

How To Get The Most Out Of Your Clothes

After writing about fast fashion last week and why it’s so hard to quit it made me think all about everything that comes with buying and owning clothes. Specifically getting the most out of your clothes even when they do come from a fast fashion brand because even if you haven’t spend hundreds of pounds on something that doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t last with the right care. There are some pieces in my wardrobe that I’ve had for nearly 10 years that are from the likes of Topshop and H&M that have still got a few years left in them despite being worn and washed hundreds of times they’ve still stood the test of time and here is how I get the most out of my clothes.

All The Best Things I've Learnt About Taking Pictures For 12 Years

Taking pictures is something that I do on a daily basis. Whether it’s setting my camera up on my tripod in front of a carefully curated still life set up for a blog post or getting my phone out to take a quick snap of the dogs when I’m walking them, it’s something I do without much thought. It’s been 12 years since I started seriously taking photographs and during that time I’ve learned an abundance of things so I thought I’d share them with you in case you’re just starting out on your photography journey. There is so much noise surrounding photography and all the things you should and you shouldn't be doing but so much of it's down to personal preference and what works for you.

Smash Incase Of Emergency Skincare Round 2

-this post contains PR samples-

The first edition of this post came out a few years ago now and it’s been something that I’ve referred back to so many times that I thought it was about time that I finally wrote a follow-up. These are the products I like to turn to whenever my skin is in real need, whether that be down to a breakout or if I’ve not been taking the best care I possibly could and they bail me out each time. And in a dream world, I’d keep this roundup in a glass box mounted in my bathroom with a little hammer to break the glass when I needed them but obviously, as satisfying as that would be it’s highly impractical so I’ll keep them in my mirrored cabinet for now instead…

Everything I've Learnt About Sharing Housework & The Mental Workload

May marks two years since I moved in my boyfriend and it’s taken us that long to properly work out how to share the housework in a way that truly works for us. Our number one argument has always been about housework and I can imagine it’s the same for a lot of couples, but I don’t think anyone loves to admit that as let’s be real sharing a blazing row about the hoovering isn’t exactly very Instagramable. Since the rise of Mrs. Hinch on Instagram I’ve never seen so many people talk about cleaning so I thought today I would share with you how my boyfriend & I are currently sharing housework and the mental workload as I know between friends it's always a hot topic.

Why Fast Fashion Is So Hard To Quit

There is only one item of clothing in my wardrobe that is from a sustainable brand and considering how much I care about the state of the planet that horrifies me. The rest of my albeit small wardrobe is all from fast fashion brands and we all now know thanks to Stacey Dooley how terrible that is for the world and I know that so many of us are trying to contribute less to that industry. I was absolutely clueless to the effects that fast fashion was having on the world and the facts are hard to ignore. That doesn’t mean it’s that easy though so I thought I’d share my thoughts on why shopping sustainably isn't as easy as we might like to think.

What I Wore For A Practical Holiday & A Free Packing List

-this post contains a gifted item-

It’s been a long time since I’ve packed an overnight bag let alone for a week-long holiday. Before I moved in with my boyfriend I was an overnight bag pro but these days, not so much and I can’t deny that I have the tendency to overpack so the prep for our week away was intense. A question that often slides in my DM’s is about the more practical clothes I wear as I know all too well that when it comes to that type of clothing is that often it’s not the most stylish option out there so bridging the two can be difficult And I’ve been meaning to do a round up of the most loved practical clothing pieces for a while so this post is the perfect opportunity to do that as well as give you a little packing list just incase you’re going on an adventure anytime soon.
