Working From Home & Not Feeling Alone
Working from home is something that on the surface sounds like a dream. Not having to answer to anybody but yourself and setting your own rules, awesome right? I feel super fortunate that I'm able to work from home, but it certainly comes with its cons. Going from working in a busy school constantly surrounded by people to being sat at my desk without anybody but my dog to talk to was a big change. Feeling lonely was a big shock and one that's still hard to deal with to this day, but I've found a few ways to work from home & not feel totally alone.
5 Current Beauty Essentials
I'm a stickler for my comfortable beauty routine, just using what I know and love it's rare that new products come in and out of rotation. A lot of favourites had come to the end and I had the urge to give some new competitors a try and see if they could make the cut and I'm happy to say that these five have.
For Stressed & Tired Skin
The last couple of months haven't been kind on my complexion, I was unwell, busy and not eating well to say the least. My skin always gives the game away when not I'm feeling my best. Over the past couple of weeks, I've been pulling out all the stops to rescue it from looking so stressed and lack-lustre.
Dressing Table 101
My dressing table is by far my favourite area of my room. I've had the same set up a little while and grown tiresome of it so it was about time that I shook things up. It felt cluttered and just a little 'ugh' with so many clashing colours. As I spent the weekend reorganising I wanted to follow up with the details and a few storage solutions in tow that might be useful for you.
Being Bigger With Your Blog In Your Own Way
As I've been blogging for four years I've had a lot of time to find my feet. A process that I believe is truly lost with people who are just starting out in the blogging world. With the plethora of posts available of 'how to blog' it's hard not to let it get in your head, some, of course, are helpful but many are just patronising. The number one reason that I love blogging so much is because you can do absolutely anything that you want with it and that's something that should be encouraged. There seems to be this unspoken process that we're all supposed to take when really we can all be bigger with our blogs in our way.
6 Books I Read Repeatedly
Ok, so I have a confession...I've not picked up a book in months. I feel terrible for letting one of my biggest resolutions fail spectacularly. Life has been crazy the past couple of months and I've just not had the chance to take time out to read. Even when I've been on the go I've had to take my laptop and work instead of taking getting lost in a good book which is my favourite thing to do when travelling. As things seem to have calmed down a little more now I'm trying to get back into the habit of reading and what better way than delving into the books that I love to read over and over again?
Awkward Beauty Topics
Like most who write about beauty, I tend to skirt around the delicate issues that are part of our routines. They seem too intimate to discuss online, but most I love reading these posts. Yes, I can talk about my favourite foundations for hours on end but that is nothing compared to how I long natter onto my girlfriends about those awkward beauty areas. In a bid to break down those uncomfortable walls, I'm talking about them in great detail today.
The Best High Street Brands
I'm a loyal high street shopper. As much as I love sauntering around luxe beauty counters in my favourite department stores there is something comforting about browsing at your leisure with no interruption. I've tried & tested most budget brands and whilst none of them are terrible some work better than others for me and here are my favourites.
Welcome To The New From Roses
Surprise! I've moved my blog over to its new home. After over 50 hours solidly working away since Friday night I'm so proud to launch the new From Roses to you today.
