Why Saying No Is Just As Important As Saying Yes

Often people say that we should say yes to everything that comes our way but lately I've learnt that sometimes it's more beneficial for us to say no than to constantly say yes. I like to please others, the amount of guilt I feel when I cannot do something for someone is incredible so it's rare that I say no even if it's not always in my favour. We probably all feel this sense of guilt sometimes and forget the importance of not letting the pressure to please others win over your own happiness.

An Ode To Jo Malone

Jo Malone is a brand that makes me my heart flutter just at the mere sight of the ivory and noir packaging. They've been my favourite perfume brand for the past few years and whenever I think about picking up a new scent I always make a B-line to the nearest counter or store. It's rare that I dedicate an entire post to something, but here is my ode to Jo Malone.

The Best Barely There Blushes

Barely there blush shades are my favourite type of shades to wear. Having freckles speckled all over my cheeks makes it quite difficult to find colours that don't make my complexion appear muddy. These shades might not look like much at first glance but once applied they give you that perfect flush of colour whilst managing to slightly sculpt the cheek too. Here are my top three which are perfect for a minimal makeup look or to compliment a bold lip or eye.

Making Your Work Day Really Work For You

Something I cannot bear is having an unproductive work day. Lately, I've been having a few days where I get to around 6pm and wonder where my day has gone. As I work for myself and don't have a 'normal' work environment it's all too easy to slip into bad habits. Even if you don't work for yourself I think this is still an easy trap to fall into, so today I wanted to talk to you about getting your work day to really work for you so you end the day on a complete high.

5 Outfits From August

August seems to have whizzed by doesn't it? Whilst everybody in the blogging world seems to be counting down till Autumn arrives, I'm not. I love the warmth of the sun beating down on my back. The past 30 days have been odd, grey and cloudy but incredibly humid which we all know us Brits are not well equipped to deal with. So bearing the tricky weather conditions in mind this is what I've been wearing in August.

Maintaining Mermaid Tresses

Maintaining Mermaid Tresses

Since growing out my hair to 'mermaid' length [girls, you know what this length means] I've found that my tresses need a lot more lovin'. My hair care routine has been lacking and most days it's just wrapped up in a ballerina bun and left alone. So, I've really needed to up my game in the hair stakes and work hard to maintain that dreamy mermaid length that I've worked so hard to achieve.

Why Moving My Blog To SquareSpace Is The Best Thing I Ever Did

The layout to your blog is your first impression to the rest of the online world. Finding the reasoning behind someone's layout and why they've picked that particular platform to blog from is something that never fails to fascinate me. For 3 and a 1/2 years I used Blogger, a trusted platform by so many, it's free and pretty simple to use so it's easy to see why so many people stand by it. But, for me earlier in the year, I felt like I'd just completely outgrown it and felt visually stifled. So I decided to undertake a big move over to SquareSpace and I have no idea just how much it would change the way I felt about my blog and the entire process that comes along with owning your own internet space.
