What Is Self-Care To You? My Favourite Self-Care Practices

The whole self-care thing really blew up in the blogging world a few years ago and to be honest after a whole lot of HUSTLE HUSTLE HUSTLE it was a welcome change. And then in a lot of ways, it became overplayed and overdone and people got really annoyed at the whole thing. Then the media caught hold of the whole craze and of course, it just added to fuel to the millennials are lazy and entitled fire which really doesn't need anything more poking. And I hold my hands up, sometimes I definitely roll my eyes when it comes to the whole self-care thing but I know how important it is. And here are the things that I consider to be self-care and how I make sure it's something I'm practicing.

Beauty Pieces I Will Always Invest In

We all have our different vices in life and beauty products are definitely mine. And even though my relationship with beauty and consumerism has changed drastically over the years it's still something I love to spend my spare money on. There are a certain set of products where I will always spend a little more if I'm able to and I'm excited to share them with you today and explain why I choose to spend a little more on certain items.

What It's Really Like Being An Anxious Driver

Ever since I passed my driving test back in April of this year I've not been scared to share that I'm a pretty anxious driver. Learning to drive was without a doubt one of the most difficult and stressful times of my life. When I knew I had a lesson the anxiety would kick in days before and then when that hour was finally over I'd be so exhausted from being so incredibly anxious it completely ruined the lesson for me. Even though the lessons were never bad and I liked my instructor I just hated learning to drive and I know that I'm not the only one who has had this experience. And as I've been driving on my own since May I thought I'd talk about what it's really like to drive when you're super anxious to step in the car.

Style Journal: September

Just incase you have missed me harping on about how cold it is this September here is a reminder...it's really been really cold in my part of the world. I've had to switch out my beloved summer dresses to make way for my chunky knits on my clothing rail and well I'm pretty sad about it. I had all my hopes set on an Indian Summer where I could feel the sun on my skin one last time before we set in for A/W which seems to last an absolute eternity in the UK. But I think my hopes of an Indian Summer have been smashed and it seems to be getting cooler day by day so here are the recent purchases I've made to make way for what I'm guessing will be a very chilly Autumn and things I've returned to.

What's New In My Beauty Rotation?

You guys probably know all too well that I'm a sucker for a routine and tend to be a creature of habit when it comes to the beauty products that I'm using. But once I know that something really works for me I tend to stick with it but then there is a large part of me that obviously loves trying out beauty products after all that's one of the reasons that I started this blog. So here are all the new products that are in my rotation and a few that I've added back in.

Why It's So Amazing When You Find Your Personal Style

Something that I think about quite often is personal style and how much it changes and evolves as we get older. Over the years I've definitely honed in on my personal style and it's strangely been such a relief after so many years of not quite feeling comfortable and constantly worrying about what I was wearing. And it wasn't until the end of last year and 2017 that I finally had that moment where I realised that I really looked forward to getting ready dressed and felt confident in the outfits that I was putting together. Of course, like most people, I do still have little blips but in general, I think I've finally found my personal style.

Awesome Online Content That Has Inspired Me Lately

I'm not sure if that fresh start September feeling has finally started to kick in but this week I've felt so inspired to create. And I definitely go through big lulls when it comes to my inspiration which I think is totally normal when you're in a creative field. We're never going to perform our best every day as much as we might like and it can be so frustrating. But like I said, this week I've felt full of beans and absolutely loved sitting down at my desk and here are the pieces of content that have really inspired me from blog posts to podcasts.

A Beauty Routine For When You've Been Caught In The Rain

If you live in the UK you will probably understand why this post is popping up in your subscription feed rather than those who reside in sunnier climates. After way too many days of being caught in torrential downpours with my dog [hence her adorable Rifle Paper Co collar in the photographs] and coming home with rain dripping off me it made me think about this post idea. Because you will know that when you get caught in the rain once it's bad enough but the third day of squelching home there were a few beauty routines that I went to in order to make myself feel human once again and here they are if you have also been caught in the rain lately.
