A Few Ways To Have An Awesome Monday
I'm one of those really infuriating people who absolutely love Monday's. The start of a fresh week makes me so happy, full of so much promise of what we can achieve and leave any crap that happened in the past 7 days behind us. And I know it's a day that is hated by the majority of people because it means it's back to work. It doesn't have to be all doom and gloom so here are a few things I do to try and make sure that I go into Monday in a good mood.
Everything I'm Trying To Do In The Rest Of 2017
Even though we're approaching the most popular time of year to create goals and aims for ourselves I've decided it's probably just best to tackle the list of things that I want to achieve now as the list is growing longer by the day. And as always, I like to hold myself accountable to these things which typically means putting them into the outside world as I know that if I just keep everything to myself then I tend to let things slip away or tell myself a million excuses not to do something. Sitting down and watching a tv show each week isn't really my thing. I tend to save things up and binge watch them or even wait until a show is completely over until I can all the episodes at a pace that my heart desires. Writing this blog for over 6 years means that I'm now fortunate enough to be sent a fair few products to try out. But something I'm all too aware of is the price of those items, just because I'm fortunate enough to receive them for work purposes doesn't mean everybody else is. If you're a new reader of my blog then you might not know the deep love that I harbour for paper products. Because that love affair goes way farther than my love for beauty products that's for sure and if there is ever a time of year for stationery it's now. From Christmas cards to wrapping paper to new diaries it really is the most wonderful time of year [if you're as stationery obsessed as I am].
Cold Weather Beauty Companions
The past few A/W's in the UK have been pretty mild, to be honest, there were a few frosts last year but that was about it. However, this year feels different, the temperature started to drop as soon as September hit and we've already had a good few solid frosts and the thermals have come into full time rotation already. Last year was the first time I really felt myself falling in love with ankle boots. They were always something that I admired on other people but never thought they looked quite right on me but now I'm somewhat obsessed. For years, I wore unpractical shoes in the winter months and my feet will probably never forgive me for it but this year I'm well prepared and none of my toes will be turning blue. And what makes this year different is that I've got a pair that is not only appropriate, comfortable and stylish but they're a purchase that gives back into the world so what could be better?
A Cheat Sheet For Wearing A Full Coverage Base Without Getting Cake Face
I'm almost a 100% sure that I could have thought of a more eloquent title for this blog post that's for sure but it speaks for itself. I'm a lover of wearing full coverage foundations, I love every single imperfection being covered up and that almost porcelain skin look. But something I am not a fan of is cake face, which on the surface may sound slightly delicious and edible but it's not. We've all been there when our base looks beautiful when first applied and for the first couple of hours and then as the day goes on it looks worse and worse. As I've been dabbling in the world of high-end bases for a good few years I've found my own little cheat sheet method to wearing a full coverage base and forgoing the cake face.
In Defence Of Being A Homebody, A Lone Wolf And Enjoying Time By Yourself
Now that we're in the cold season that means that it's perfectly acceptable to stay at home and not want to leave the house. And as an all year round homebody, I'm so on board with this. I think I realised at somewhat of a young age that I really loved being at home and nothing makes me quite as happy as being in my own living space with my dog of course. But so often being a homebody can be seen as a little bit of a boring thing but I don't think that at all and the same goes for being a lone wolf and enjoying time by yourself.
