The Books I've Read, Currently Reading and Want To Read Again

It's been far too long since I wrote about what I was reading, in-fact, according to my archives, it was back in August which is far too long if you ask me. Reading is one of my greatest pleasures in life and something I adore to do but something I really struggle with is fitting it into my routine and for some reason flicking in-between Twitter and Instagram takes over yet I still keep on buying books. However, I've made a tiny dent in my reading list so I thought I'd share what I have read, am currently reading as well as the books I want to make sure I revisit in 2018.

Having a good beauty reset where you tackle everything is always a good idea but there is no better time [to me] than the weekend. Getting those things done really helps me feel ready to tackle the week ahead as well as being thoroughly enjoyable too. So today I thought I'd give a rundown of everything that I do as well as my current favourite products for doing a big beauty reset in case you're in the mood for one this weekend.

Why Having A Good Tidy & Declutter Is So Good For Creativity And My Other Favourite Ways To Think Of New Ideas

Something that we can all probably agree on is that once you hit a roadblock with your creativity and ideas process then it can be really difficult to break out of as well as incredibly frustrating. No matter what you do that block just doesn't shift and then the panic starts to set in, I have a mini-meltdown at least once a week that I might have used up all my good ideas and that I'm a complete failure. Dramatic, obviously but the fear is real. But there is one thing that really helps me get my mojo back is and that is tidying and decluttering, which also happens to be my favourite way to procrastinate so let me tell you a little more about why that is.

6 Products I Still Give 5* But Don't Use Anymore

Any beauty enthusiast will know that you can be in a serious love affair with a product but then you may stray from it for some reason leaving it to gather dust. It doesn't mean that you don't love the product anymore but it's just not something you find yourself reaching for and from a recent clear out I discovered that there were quite a few of those products in my collection. Products that you've more than likely heard me talk about time and time again but here is a little reminder that I think they're the bee's knees.

The Bedside Beauty Products That Make For A Great Nights Sleep

Even though I'm all too aware that wishing away your time is one of the worst habits you can have I can't deny that there are days where all I dream about is getting back into bed. There is something so amazing about climbing into [preferably] warm sheets after a long day, especially in the cooler months when sometimes it's just too painful to step outside. My evening routine is something that is very precious to me, it's something I seriously look forward to and taking off your makeup is almost as good as taking off your bra after a long day. There are a few products that I reach for every evening that make my night a touch better and send me off for a good slumber.

My Photography Process; From What I Use To How I Edit

Even though I wrote a post surrounding this topic back in September my process looks quite different now. It's something that is constantly changing and evolving, much like my written work process which is something I wrote about last week. And the process and planning that goes into taking pictures is something that is so normal to me, it's the thing that comes easiest to me and without a doubt the thing that I find the most enjoyable when it comes to creating content. Of course, I love sitting down and putting my thoughts out onto a page but getting outside and shooting or setting up a carefully curated still life is something that makes me so incredibly happy and something I don't see myself falling out of love with anytime soon.

7 Beauty Lessons I Wish I Knew 7 Years Ago

When I look back on photographs from my teens, college and university years I can't help but cringe ever so slightly. And I think that's pretty normal when you're looking back at pictures from your past, of course, it doesn't always have to be in a self-loathing way either although there is a little bit of that too I can't deny it. But the first thing that comes to mind is that there are so many beauty tips and tricks that I wish I knew at that point of my life. And nearly everything that I know now, all the things that have saved my skin and my hair are mostly all down to blogs. So if I could go back in time and tell my 20 something self a few things about her beauty routine this is what they would be.

What I'm Doing Fitness Wise Right Now & Finding Joy In It Once Again

This January was the first time I didn't feel myself itching to get back into the gym after the festivities. Mostly down to having the flu but also because my relationship with fitness has changed so much. For so long it was the thing that helped my mental health stay somewhat in check as well as being something I genuinely loved. I never thought I'd be the girl who felt that way about the gym but last year I really saw myself go through a lull with the whole fitness thing, which I resisted for so long mostly because I thought my brain would fall apart without it. Very dramatic I know but if you have that type of relationship with fitness you will understand where I'm coming from and why I was in such despair about it. Over the past few months, well since we've had Josie really I've changed what I do to keep myself active so much and it's completely changed my mindset. I have a little bit of strange urge to know what people do to say active so this is what I'm doing right now.

How I've Changed My Attitude Towards Blogging & What My Current Work Process Looks Like

When you've been doing something for a number of years it's somewhat obvious that it will change and your relationship with that thing will evolve. I'm now into my seventh year of blogging and not only has my relationship with this whole blogging thing changed but so has the way I do things and I thought I'd share my process with you today. Because as much as I love knowing the cleansers that people are using right now there is nothing better than knowing what goes on behind the scenes and how other people work with the content they produce.
