9 Things I Loved In March
Something new that I'm going to try and do every month on this blog is share everything that I used the most, did and generally loved in those 30 days. I'm not somebody who has ever properly partaken in the whole monthly favourites trend in blogging as I don't change up things that often and I never want to force things for the sake of content so this format works way better for me and my creature of habit ways. March was an unusual month for me as I took a few weeks away from my somewhat normal routine so I got to do a few things that I don't typically do and here is everything I enjoyed in March.
The Only Type Of Eyeshadow I Reach For & How To Get It To Stick Around
Something that has been very consistent throughout all my time writing this blog is that I'm a big fan of one wash wonder eyeshadows. You know the type of shadow I'm talking about, they're a lazy girl's best friend and make achieving a beautiful eye look very easy. And whenever I wear makeup I without fail will reach for this type of shadow. So over the years, I've honed in on what the best ones are and yes, they are all on the champagne spectrum.
7 Things I Wish I'd Known When I First Started Blogging
This was a topic that cropped up when I did my little Q&A a few weeks ago and I thought it was a fascinating subject. I've been blogging nearly 7 years now so of course, during those years I've undoubtedly wished that I could have gone back and done things differently. But then another part of me thinks that this is all just part of the learning process of being a blogger and without those things, I wouldn't be where I am today, and I really love where I am right now. So it's a catch 22 situation but here are all the things that I wish I'd known at the beginning of my blogging journey.
4 Primers That Perform
During my time away from work something that I did a lot more than I expected was trailing new items and going through my beauty stash. Not even the name of research but because I wanted to try and get rid of anything out of my dresser that I don't really love. One of my favourite areas of beauty is anything related to base, maybe it's from all my years of having bad skin but it's always my most loved part of my routine as well as the best to try out. I do believe primer is one of those products that you either love and use daily or deem it useless, as you've probably guessed I absolutely adore it and here are the ones I'm pretty into at the moment.
My Favourite Small & independent Businesses To Buy From & Support
It's probably no secret considering this blog used to be predominantly about beauty products that I'm very much into consumerism. But the way that I consume material items has changed so much over the years and something that I'm on the quest to do is not only buy less but buy more from small & independent businesses and second hand so I'm not feeding into the fast fashion way of spending. So I thought today I would share some of my most loved small businesses that feel really good to support as you get to see where your money is going and what it can mean for a business.
A Whole Lotta Empties
Empties posts aren't something that I find myself creating very often as the thought of hoarding rubbish and trying to make it look appealing isn't something that screams fun to me. However, empties posts are something I find incredibly useful when it comes to buying beauty products as you really get to know someone's thoughts on an items when they've used it up. I've been really trying to use up a lot of beauty products at the moment in my never-ending quest to get rid of clutter and here is everything that has made it's way to my recycling bin lately.
Welcome Back! Where I've Been & What I've Been Doing
So, I'm back! And it's safe to say I've really missed my little corner of the internet far more than I anticipated but I thoroughly enjoyed my break. I absolutely loved taking time off and feel really rested and ready to get back into the swing of things. Even though I've still been online and updating my Instagram and Twitter regularly not sitting down and writing a post has been strange. For so long I've always had a place to put my thoughts and musings without being limited to 280 characters so forgive me if I am a little rusty at writing paragraphs right now. When I decided to take my little hiatus I was seriously burnt out and taking that step back has lit a serious fire in my belly and I'm itching to create content. So, to get back into the swing of things I thought I would share what I've been up to in the last few weeks.
Be Right Back
I'm not typically one to post big announcements but this one felt pretty important to share. I'm going to be taking a few weeks away from posting here in order to feel a little more like a functioning human and be able to produce content that I really do feel happy with. For a good few months I've been battling a serious burnout, I constantly teeter on the edge of it and as of right now whilst I'm able to afford myself this time I'm going to make a very important choice to not run myself completely in the ground.
Everything I Want To Do This March
Believe it or not these photographs were actually only taken a couple of days ago. The snow has disappeared now, thankfully and I'm hoping spring isn't too far away but March certainly feels pretty dreary right now. That being said it's always one of my favourite months of the year, everything starts to feel a little easier after the hard slog that is winter and I'm hoping that 2018 is no different. It's been a while since I've sat and written about my monthly plans but here is everything I want to do this March.
