Talking All Things Hair
One of the most common questions I get online is about my hair, and my hair is not something that I've always felt that confident about. Because it's so thin and fine I never thought anybody would admire it but like I said, it's always a question that I get asked. My hair has changed quite a lot over the past few years and it's been the quite the journey to get it to the point where it is today and this is most confident that I've felt with my hair in years. So here are all the details on my hair from how I get it cut to what brushes that I use to how I get those messy curls.
Being A Wallflower Blogger
All throughout my life, I've been shy. I've always wanted to talk and speak up but never quite had the courage too so when I discovered the world of blogs it allowed me to talk freely without the pressure of a social situation. And throughout my life in general, I've never loved attention, of course, there is always that teenager in turmoil stage but lots of attention makes me feel incredibly uneasy. Which is kind of strange when you blog for a living, I'm not saying that all bloggers go through life needing constant attention but they seemingly feel a lot more comfortable with it than I do. And over the past few months, I've realised I'm what I would consider a wallflower blogger. I don't like a big fuss and the thought of hyping myself up makes me want to vomit so I thought it might be an interesting topic to write about as I know that I can't be the only one who feels this way.
3 Podcasts I Think You'll Love
I'm very into podcasts at the moment now I'm back into the swing of things with work. I listen to podcasts when I'm working, taking pictures, editing, cooking, cleaning and well just about anything. And as I know you guys love podcasts too I thought I would share some of the best ones I've been listening to lately.
My Grand Perfume Library; Most Loved & Most Used
Perfume is something that I've always had a soft spot for, going and testing them out and coming home with about a billion tester strips is a fond teenage memory of mine. Spraying on my selected fragrance every morning is something that makes me feel truly ready for the day so with that being said I've acquired quite a few scents. I didn't realise quite how many till I went round and counted them all and I have nearly 30 in my collection, now that is a hefty amount for anybody and I have absolutely no reason to have that many. Some I've had for years and cling onto for sentimental reasons but a lot have been added to my scent library in the past year so if you're a little bit obsessed with fragrance then here's my most used and loved.
5 Winter Style Pieces To Take Into The New Season
As I always try and buy wardrobe pieces that can be transferred throughout all the seasons when the weather starts to change I find myself wanting to wear them but they, of course, need styling in a different manner. It's amazing to have particular items that are just for that season like dainty midi dresses and thick chunky knits that make you feel amazing each time you pull them on. But in general, when you really want to get the most out of what you own there is nothing better than having something that can work for the majority of them. As I'm currently in the process of switching out some of my wardrobe for hopefully warmer weather, I thought I'd share some of my most loved cold weather pieces that can work in the warmer seasons too. Just a quick note before we dig in is that I do live in the UK, we don't have the warmest summers on record although things can get balmy so if you reside somewhere super warm then these options may not work for you.
A New Glow Inducing Skincare Duo
Discovering any type of skincare product that does wonderful things to your complexion is an incredible feeling but then when you discover two that work in harmony together, well that is even better. In the past month or so there have been two products that I've been reaching for when my skin is in dire need of a refresh and they've been making my complexion glow like nothing else has before so here are the details in case you're in need of a boost.
The Most Important Declutter To Have This Spring
One of the biggest trends online at the moment is decluttering. Which is pretty awesome considering how huge the haul culture is, seeing people change their mindsets towards how they consume material items is incredible. As it's spring [well, that's what the calendar says, I'm yet to be truly convinced] it's the time of year where we really get to grips with getting rid of things that we don't need. Although I'm yet to properly clean out my kitchen cupboards something I have done is have a digital declutter, an idea that was sparked by my wonderful friend Tenneil at Like Neon Love [read her post here]. And it's possibly one of the most important declutters we can have this spring...
4 Foundations That Can Transition You To Warmer Climates
Ok, so we've had a lot false starts to spring already making it hard to believe it might actually be on the horizon but I think it is. This week the sun has shone twice, so you know bikini season is on its way. I jest of course but still, I do think it might be getting warmer as dog walks haven't felt quite as painful as they have done in recent months and the fact it hasn't snowed is wonderful. And as much as I adore the transition of the seasons my skin does not share the same sentiment and it always freaks out and doesn't quite know how to behave. Which can make wearing makeup pretty tricky but here are the bases that work beautifully and always flatter my skin even when it is freaking out.
Everything I Learnt & What Happened When I Took A Step Back From Business
I promise that I will stop going on about taking time off soon, but hey this is a lifestyle blog after all and as that's what I've been doing it's been on my mind a lot. I knew that when I took a step back from work I would more than likely come back and write a post like this and not so surprisingly here I am. In the blogging world, we hear about people taking time off all the time but I don't think anybody ever really delves into the nitty-gritty of it, because when you're your own boss it's really pretty scary. Taking time off not only did my mental health wonders but it also taught me some really important lessons about business and I'm going to share some of the things that I learned with you today.
