How Having A Dog Has Improved My Mental Health

If you don't know who those two hounds are, they are Josie & Edie. My two beloved sighthounds that have both come into my life within the last twelve months and they've changed my life in so many ways. The funny thing is that I used to be terrified of dogs, I was bitten as a child and it took me until I was 16 to start to feel confident around them again. Which if you've ever seen me around dogs now then that's probably hard to believe but never having a dog in my life as a child and a negative experience scared me so much. Over a year into dog mum life, there have been so many positives but the biggest change is my mental health and now it's not hard to see why therapy dogs are a thing and why they have such a good success rate.

What Cleared My Skin Up For Good

It's ironic that I've decided to finally sit down and write this post and for the first time in months a pesky white head has popped up. But other than that my complexion has been the best it's been in years and for a long time, it was my biggest struggle. Having bad skin really knocked me, it was something that I thought about constantly and I never, ever thought I'd get to the point where I felt comfortable enough to go foundation free but 6 years later here we are. And these are all the things that helped to clear my skin up for good, obviously, this is my personal skin journey and not a step by step guide to getting rid of spots as we're all so different.

So, We've All Felt Crappy This Week Huh?

I've never had so many conversations as I have this week about how crappy we all seem to feel. I started to feel this way a few weeks ago and I couldn't put my finger on it, mentally I felt generally pretty good but there was something clouding up my brain and it wasn't having a positive effect on me at all I felt tired, run down and BLURGH. At first, I blamed my period, if in doubt that always gets the blame but even when that ended my mood still wasn't amazing. I'd seen a few others mention it online and after asking my own lovely Instagram following how they felt, every single person replied saying they also felt really low too. So I thought I'd have a conversation about it today and how I'm trying to pick myself up.

The Best Things In My Make-Up Bag Right Now

Switching out my make-up bag is one of my most loved tasks of the week. It's the only way I've found that I can actually get through all my products and get out of my beauty rut as we all know that I'm a big creature of habit who tends to stick the same things. There are a couple new additions to my makeup bag as well as a few old favourites back in rotation and here is the best of my makeup bag right now.

Why Sharing The 'Boring' Stuff Is So Important For Bloggers

Something that has held me back a lot online this year is the 'fear'. The worry that I'm not exciting enough to share my life or that I'm boring or irritating has completely ruined how I've shared myself because I've been so worried. At the time of writing this post I put out a little poll on my Instagram about what people wanted to see and there were two options: day to day and luxe. And although I presumed things would more than likely lean towards the day to day side, I didn't realise just how heavily, a whopping 96% answered that they wanted to see the day to day lives of the people that they follow. Which leads me to this post and why I think more than ever it is so important to share the things that we may deem boring online.

Little Ways To Treat Yo'Self Without Spending A Fortune

The term treat yo'self is one of my favourites and not just because it's from one of my most loved tv shows Parks & Recreation. Because I truly believe that everyone should treat themselves to something, no matter what it is whether it's an expensive bag, a decadent chocolate bar or a bath. And since it's Sunday there no better day to treat yourself and here are some of my favourite things to do that don't cost a fortune.

Everything Awesome From July

Ok, so where did July go? How are we in August already? The last 31 days have whizzed by and I'm not sure I'm quite ready for a fresh month yet. I hate myself for starting these posts this way but I cannot quite believe how fast 2018 is going. I have to admit, I'm kind of done with the heatwave that we're experiencing in the UK right now and for someone who has always been a summer forever type of girl, that is saying something.  We're just not equipped for this heat ok. I promise there won't be too much weather chat in this post and here is everything awesome from July!

Bedroom Decorating Ideas On How To Sleep Well This Summer & All Year Round

- this post is in collaberation with House of Fraser -

There are plenty of things that make summer one of the best seasons in the UK. The sun hitting your skin, everything in full bloom, the long evenings, everyone being just a smidgen happier and the hope of not needing to take a jacket with you, you know, just incase. However, there is one thing about a British summer that is far from enjoyable and that is trying to get a good night's sleep. There is nothing worse than trying to settle down and relax in bed when it's too warm in your bedroom. During the last few weeks, with the help of the House of Fraser homeware collection, tThe last few weeks I've pulled out all the stops to try and make our bedroom feel like the haven it usually is in order to and make sure I can be as rested as possible even when it's +25℃.  degrees + as well as making our bedroom feel like the haven it usually is.

Why I'm Shopping My Own Wardrobe This Summer

Why I'm Shopping My Own Wardrobe This Summer

For the entirety of July, I've not bought a single piece of clothing. And I didn't set out at the beginning of the month with that intention, it just sort of happened but when I realised that I'd got 20 days into the month without purchasing anything it pushed me to make it all the way to the end and it feels liberating. Although my relationship with material items has changed drastically from what it used to be I do still love the thrill of a good purchase. Something I did make a conscious effort to do this month, however, was to wear something different every single day and I found it really fun. I'm such a creature of habit when it comes to style and tend to gravitate towards the same things in my wardrobe and by doing this it's been like shopping my own wardrobe and these are all the items that I've rediscovered.
