My Style Essentials For A Typical British Summer

Just in case you’ve missed every single person in the UK moaning about the weather let me tell you that it’s been absolutely foul lately. I don’t think I’ve ever known rain as heavy or as often as we’ve had in the past couple of weeks. It’s rained every single day, often all day and to say it’s put a dampener on my enthusiasm for summer is an understatement. I’d tucked away all my coats and knitwear in favour for summer dresses and sandals but sadly there’s been absolutely no way I’ve been able to put those on so I’ve been turning to style essentials for a typical British summer instead.

3 Years Of Vegetarianism

June marks 3 years since I made the choice to cut meat from my diet and I can safely say that it’s the best decision that I’ve ever made. Diet isn’t something that I talk about a lot as it’s something that is so incredibly personal and what works for one certainly doesn’t work for all and we all know that preaching about an animal-free diet doesn’t inspire anyone to make a change. All that being said though, today I wanted to share what 3 years of vegetarianism has looked like for me.

The Best Houseplants For Beginners

Houseplants are seriously popular at the moment and it’s wonderful. Having greenery in your home is unbelievably good for our living environments and I think it’s really fun to have something that you need to tend to and subsequently get to see thrive. All that being said, some are easier than others to look after and these are my top 5 houseplants for beginners and no, there’s not a succulent in sight...

Everything I Wish I Knew Before I Started Running

You’ve probably seen me mention that I’m currently using the Couch to 5k app to help me get back in the swing of things with running. Back in 2015 I fell in love with running, never before had I felt so mentally free in my entire life but a few months in I really hurt my knee and that left me unable to run comfortably for years. Last year I briefly picked running back in the summer but when the weather turned I didn’t fancy doing it in the freezing cold so it wasn’t until I rejoined the gym did I start opening the app again a few times a week. And this is everything I wish I knew about running before I started.

The Best Things I've Watched So Far This Year

This might be a bold statement but I truly think this year has been the best for TV in a while. And I love sharing the things that I've loved watching so much as there’s always a good back & forth where you share what you’ve been watching too so I'm never short of suggestions. You might have seen me mention some of these things in my bi-weekly to watch, listen and read posts but here are a few more details on them all.

AM Routines That Are Making My Mornings Awesome Right Now

The hours before the majority of the world gets up and starts their day is my favourite time to be up and getting stuff done. And if I told my teenage self this news I’m sure she would be horrified and if I had the choice between getting up at 5am or 12pm then I’d pick 5am every single time. My morning routine is something I really treasure as not only do I think it’s integral to start the day off well. But it’s generally the only time I get somewhat to myself without having to worry about everything that I need to get done that day and these are 6 of the things that start my day off really well.

6 Beauty Hits & Misses At The Moment

-this post contains gifted items-

I’ve been working some new beauty bits into my routine here and there for a while now. Gone are the days where I was trying something new nearly every other day, I’m much more precious about my skincare routine and there aren’t that many fresh beauty releases that come into my life. Which is a really good thing because I’m slowly working my way through everything I have which is exactly what I’m aiming for. Long gone are the days where I wanted a huge beauty collection. Now what I aim for is something so much more streamlined, it will never be a capsule beauty collection that’s for sure but I don't have 30 foundations anymore either, anyway here are my current beauty hits and misses.

A June To-Do List

Part of me really cannot believe it’s June and the other part feels like winter lasted approx 5435 years and I’m certainly ready for the promise of more warm days that are hopefully waiting for us this month. So far June is shaping up to be a nice month for me as it’s pretty quiet, April & May were quite busy so I’m looking forward to generally being at home and getting on with work as we all know how much a homebody I am. And this is what I want to achieve in the next 30 days…

My Most Loved In May

May was a brilliant month, I turned 29, had a week off work, went to the New Forest for the first time and met lots of people I’d only ever got to speak to online before and I bought a new camera! So there were plenty of things that I enjoyed this month and here are the details on a few of them.
