Why I'm [Trying] Not To Shop In 2018
Over the past year, I've spoken quite a lot about how my relationship with material items has changed but this is a post that I never thought that I'd be writing. Because I do love material items, I can't and won't deny that fact but I think it's so easy to get caught up in the cycle of constantly buying. And as a blogger that's even more prevalent and something, I want to try and nip in the bud. This isn't to say that I think shopping is awful or an evil practice but this year I really want to challenge myself not to shop as much and here are the reasons why.
Small Changes That Have Made My Office Awesome To Work In Again
Being able to work from home is such an incredible thing. Having the freedom to tailor my day exactly how I'd like it to pan out and be in [mostly] complete control of my work day goes is something that I thrive from. And now I'm able to work in a room that is completely dedicated to getting things done, after working cramped in my bedroom for years it's such a big change. But just like any area in the home my office had become a little bit of a mess and was in need of a refresh and as we've just entered a new year it was the perfect time to make some changes. So here are the little adjustments I've made to my workspace that have made me want to sit at my desk for hours on end again. Because when you love the environment that you work in it makes all the difference in the world.
7 New Things I'm Doing In My Beauty Routine In 2018
My beauty routine is something that is always changing and evolving to suit what I want and need at that current moment. But I am a big creature of habit, I tend to stick to what feels good and I know works but sometimes those things just stop working or I want to make a push for something new. As we're in the new year [and I've had a massive clear out of my beauty stash lately]. There are some new things that I'm doing in my beauty routine right now that I'm excited to share with you and of course, I want to know what your routine looks like right now too.
Don't Let Instagram Grind You Down
If you frequent the blogging world quite often, especially the likes of Twitter then you will more than likely have heard people voicing their frustration with Instagram. And roll back even just a couple of years ago it was undoubtedly my favourite platform, it was always such a positive place to be and a place for pretty photographs to be shared and appreciated. What could be better than that? Well, things have taken a turn with Instagram and I don't think I've ever felt so frustrated with the platform until now which lead me to this idea for this post. Because as silly as it might seem when Instagram is something you truly used to adore and you've seen it change so much and not for the better it can really get you down.
A Little Guide To Working From Home & Actually Getting Stuff Done
Over the last few years, I've been incredibly fortunate to be able to work for myself and work from home. Being able to work from your own space is something that is sought after by many but for some, it's their worst nightmare. Because let's be honest here, it's not all leisurely mornings with avocado on toast and then doing your work at your own pace. Of course, it certainly has its perks and for me personally, it's something that has been a true blessing in life. But the last few years has certainly taught me a lot and here is my little guide to working from home. Whether that be because you're running your own business or studying.
7 Beauty Products To Rediscover This Year
As always I'm trying to keep on top of my beauty stash so things never get out of hand and I subsequently end up wasting products which results in me throwing things away as I can't stand waste. I'm a big creature of habit and I'm also a little bit of a magpie and really lovely shiny new things so it's all too easy for things to get pushed to the back of my drawers and left to gather dust. I really want to get through a lot more of my beauty stash this year so here are 7 products I'm on the quest to rediscover and use up.
Style Investments I Want To Make In 2018
When I evolved this website into a beauty blog something that was incredibly popular at the time was wishlist posts, infact it was my first ever post as a beauty blogger. But over the years they've faded in popularity but they're still something I adore and I always want to know what people are saving up for. So I thought I'd share some of the style investments that I really want to make this year as now I shop a whole lot less I like to have some sort of guide to what I'm looking for as it stops me making impulse purchases.
6 New Things I'm Trying To Do Every Day
Something I'm constantly on the quest to do is to incorporate new habits into my life that can make things go a little smoother. And anything that can either help me have a more productive workday or help me sleep better is something I'm always a fan of. As it's a new year, of course, I've been reading thousands of posts about what new habits other people are trying to form so here are 6 new things that I'm trying to do nearly every day in 2018.
Current Style Obsession: Converse
A style item that's been on my to buy list for a long time is a pair of classic black Converse. I've been a wearer and lover of the white ones for over 6 years now so I knew they were something that I would more than likely get a lot of wear out of so I popped them on my Christmas list and my lovely sister picked a pair up for me and they've barely left my feet since. Which you can probably tell seen as they're only a few weeks old and they're looking very well loved already and here are some of my favourite ways to style them...
