How I'm Trying To Support Others Online & Stop Being A Silent Viewer

The blogging world is predominantly made up of females, of course, there are some incredible male bloggers out there but in general, it's a whole lotta ladies. Therefore you might think it's a wonderful place to be, girl power and all that but the vast majority of the time it's the complete opposite. All too often you will see a slanging shady Twitter match going off and generally it can feel a little Mean Girl esque. And there is no way we can ever all get along but something I know I need to do more is show my support to other online creators and stop being such a silent reader.

My Worst Beauty Habit & How I'm Trying To Fix It

Something that I always fall into the trap of believing is that if you write about beauty then you obviously must have the best habits and practices. And although I've nipped some of my terrible ones in the bud something that I really struggle with is biting the skin around my fingers and really making a mess of my hands. Not a habit that I'm particularly proud of or love to admit but I know whenever I mention it online there are always at least 5 other people who say they struggle with it too. So I thought today I'd share how I'm trying to work on it and not let my hands look like I've let my dogs chew on them.

A Year Of Buying Less; What I've Learnt

February 2017 marked the month that I first really got into the idea of shopping and buying less. As someone who once had a very high dependency on spending money to be happy I never thought it would be something I even considered. I've briefly spoken about my poor relationship with money in the past but when it's not until looking back on it now do I realise just how bad it was and just how much I've changed my attitude towards spending money. In the past year or so I've learned so much and here are the most valuable things I've taken away from it all.

Embracing The Quiet

Embracing The Quiet

As a huge introvert and homebody who loves nothing more than being in her own environment in the peace and quiet you probably would think that I love quiet in all aspects of life but actually, it's something I really struggle with. And I think this is a topic that nobody seems to talk about until a couple of weeks ago when I read a post from the wonderful Olivia Bossert and how she was embracing a quiet month in her business. For somebody who is self-employed to hear that said felt almost revolutionary and not something, I've ever heard before. Which led me to really having a good think about the reasons why I should appreciate quiet moments in life more instead of oddly craving always being rushed off my feet.

How I'm Keeping My Blonde Hair Fresh

Just in case you don't follow me on Instagram then you might not have seen that I've gone over to blond[er] side. Technically it's balayage as I've still maintained my dark roots but to a long-term brunette it's very blonde to me and I'm excited to be back over to the light side. When I first started this blog, nearly seven years ago I had a white blonde hair that I absolutely adored. But man was it hard to maintain and on a university students budget it really wasn't very obtainable for me to have such high maintenance hair. So now I'm a bit older and don't have hair in the same condition as straw it's actually pretty fun to discover how to not only keep my hair as bright as possible but healthy too.

6 Things My Dogs Have Taught Me

Yesterday was a special day in our household, it was Josie's gotcha day which means I've been a dog parent for an entire year. And in the last 365 days that leggy pup has taught me so much and even more so with the addition of little Edie to our family. Of course, I've tried to teach Josie and Edie as much as I possibly can but I had no idea that the dogs would teach me a thing or two. Who needs a life coach when you have dogs?

How To Get Stuff Done When You're In A Serious Funk

A few weeks ago I wrote all about why having a bad day can be a really good thing [catch up with that post here]. However, often those bad days like to spring up at the most inopportune time and we have to still get on with things even though we're in a serious funk. These days happen to me when I've got the longest to do list so I still need to get on with my work as well as make room for the funky mood and here is how I've worked out how to not only cheer myself up but get on with work too.

The Things That I Really Wear Everyday

Whenever I share any type of outfit post on this blog I'm usually wearing my best attire, the things that I save for nice occasions and even though obviously, I am wearing those things. I definitely do not wear them every day as realistically it's not practical to walk the dogs in a floral dress, as much as I wish it was. So today I thought I'd share the things that I really wear every single day as well what are the best things I've found for walking the pups in.

My Most Loved & Used Beauty Products Of All Time

Having a passion for beauty products and buying them willy-nilly with my own cash and then this online space allowing me to be part of the world of PR samples means I've sampled a lot of beauty products in the past 7 years. And that is one of the most brilliant things about PR samples, they can allow you to sample things you might not have come across before and without those samples, I would never have the taste in beauty that I do nowadays. I've been whittling down my stash quite a lot as I don't ever want things to go to waste and I've really narrowed it down to brands and products that I truly adore and get a lot of use from. So here are what I would consider my most loved products and brands of all time!
