The Bathroom Renovation Diaries #1
Ok, so when writing this post I found out that our builder decided he wasn't able to complete our bathroom when work was due to begin on Tuesday. So now we've taken a huge step back in our renovation process and have a spare room full of everything we that we need for said bathroom and I wasn't sure what to do about this post. As obviously I was writing it in anticipation with the finished result being posted a couple of weeks later. But I suppose this is more of an honest portrayal of what a renovation can be like. And our bathroom will still be hopefully done this year and this is everything that has inspired us for our first proper renovation.

I've been buying beauty products for a long time, but I've not always bought high-end. That wasn't something that I became interested in until I was in my twenties, but still, that's a good eight years perusing the beauty halls and wandering into Space NK. A Few Things To Do To Boost Your Motivation & Inspiration
This time of year is always a little strange, it's probably the years of being in the education system that has taught me August is a time to be slow and enjoy the summer but once you're launched into the adult world at full speed those slow hazy Augusts are no more. However, we're approaching September, which is my favourite time of year as it's still warm but you can feel Autumn in the air. Because of those years in the school system, it has always symbolised a fresh start for me, far more than the new year ever does. Watching a good documentary is one of my favourite pass times and ways to relax. As I not only get to sit on the sofa not doing anything but I also feel like I'm learning something new. Netflix is my go-to in order to find something new to watch and they've got some really awesome things to watch on there at the moment and the following are on my must-watch list.

At the time of writing this, I've not worn make-up in nearly 10 days. Which I realise probably isn't a big deal for a lot of people but for me, a self-confessed beauty lover it's quite odd. Truth be told, I've just not been feeling it so whenever that happens I'm not going to apply make-up for the sake of it. It should always be something that we enjoy and we don't feel is something we have to do to fit in with societies standards. A Little Guide To Decluttering, A Capsule Wardrobe and Owning Less
A question that comes my way quite often is if I stick to the traditional rules of the capsule wardrobe and the answer is no, not in the slightest. Whilst I love decluttering, a well-considered wardrobe and owning a whole lot less I like to do those things without strict rules and regulations. Since challenging myself in July to wear something different every day it taught me a lot about all three of those subjects. And as the blogging world has taken a total U-turn from the gargantuan hauls it used to feature it's always an interesting conversation to dive into.
When Being Sustainable Doesn't Feel Obtainable
There is a lot of talk about being eco-friendly and sustainable right now, which is awesome because it's important. However, I think for so many people the conversation seems very scary and overwhelming and so many of us are too scared to interject incase it's wrong. The conversation is so important, we know that there is no second planet but by having such unobtainable rules about being zero waste etc that's not helpful for anyone to even make small steps. It's a topic that is always on my mind and I'm trying to do the best as I can as well as opening my mind to learn a little more too and I thought it would be good to have a conversation about it today.
